After making our way to Marine City and enjoying the night breeze, we went into Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch (부엌간 차이니즈 마린시티점) for dinner. The lighting and interior felt distinctly different from an ordinary Chinese restaurant, making it feel closer to an upscale Chinese dining restaurant than simply somewhere to eat. At the window seats, you can dine while looking out at the Marine City sea, and private rooms are available too, so it seemed well suited to everything from dates to family meals and gatherings. A rich, savory umami flavor rose right up, to the point where I immediately thought, “Oh, this is delicious.” The flavor of the fried chicken and the savory sauce worked beautifully together, while the fresh, crisp cabbage kept what could have been a heavy dish feeling clean. In particular, it felt a little different from the yuringi chicken I had commonly eaten at other Chinese restaurants.
