## In short

Garu Seonsaeng Drinkable Corn Soy Cream Soup is a powdered cream soup made with Korean soybeans and corn. Mixed with water and served warm, it was smooth, gently sweet and nutty; the kids enjoyed it too, and a bowl before a meal was more filling than expected. Verdict: a handy warm addition to a busy breakfast.

I really love soup. Even on mornings when I do not have much of an appetite, a warm bowl of soup settles my stomach while still feeling filling. It is also nice to have lightly before a meal, so I often make sure to keep some around.

This time, I tried Garu Seonsaeng Drinkable Corn Soy Cream Soup.

Corn soup is already one of my favorite things, so I wanted to try this as soon as I saw it. To give you the conclusion first, it was smooth, sweet, and nutty, which suited my taste well—and best of all, the kids ate it happily, so I really liked it.

## A cream soup with corn and Korean soybeans

When it arrived, I found that the 500g pouch held a generous amount. It comes in a zip pouch, so it was convenient to scoop out only what I needed, reseal it, and store it again.

What makes it different from the usual corn soups I eat is its soy cream base. The label says it contains 35.3% soybeans from Korea and 24% corn, and it uses a plant-based soy cream made with Korean soybeans, almonds, and oats.

I liked that it felt a little lighter than a rich cream soup made with milk or heavy cream. The sweet, nutty flavor distinctive to corn is joined by the clean taste of soybeans, so it was nice to share with the kids too.

## An easy bowl mixed with water

Since it is a powder, preparing it is simple too.

I put some of the corn soy cream soup powder in a bowl, added water, and stirred it well. When I first added the water, there were little clumps here and there, but after stirring thoroughly with a spoon, it gradually dissolved into a smooth soup.

The finished color was such an appetizing corn color! I had it warm, and its smooth texture and gentle sweetness from the corn made it easy to enjoy. It was not aggressively sweet or salty; the nutty sweetness came through naturally.

Personally, if a soup is too salty or has a strong artificial sweetness, I get tired of it after a few spoonfuls. Perhaps because this has a mild soy base as well, I could comfortably finish a whole bowl.

## More filling than expected before a meal

That day, I made a bowl to have before my meal. Since it is soup, I thought it would simply be a light appetizer, but it was quite filling—more than I expected. Rather than a light soup containing only corn, it has a soy cream base with Korean soybeans, almonds, oats, and more, so I felt full after one bowl.

As in the photo, it also went well before a meat dish. Having warm soup first made the meal feel a little more complete, somehow. On a busy morning, I think it would also be nice alongside a slice of bread, a sandwich, or a boiled egg.

## A soup I liked even more because the kids ate it well

Since there are children in our home, even if I like a product, I do not reach for it much if it does not suit their taste. But they ate this one well too.

Corn itself is a familiar flavor for children, and I think its smooth, sweet taste made it easy for them to eat without resistance. Especially when they say they do not want rice in the morning, making them a warm bowl seemed like a good way to use it as a simple breakfast menu.

For the kids, rather than making it too thick, I think you can adjust the amount of water to get the consistency you want. Make it a little thicker for more of a cream-soup feel, or add a little more water for a lighter, easy-to-drink style. That made it versatile too.

## Who might enjoy this

I think it would suit people who already like corn soup, people who prefer a lighter flavor to a rich cream soup with milk or heavy cream, and people who want an easy warm item on a busy morning.

The powdered format was especially convenient because I could make only as much as I needed each time. It would be useful not only for breakfast, but also as an afternoon snack when I am peckish or whenever I want a warm soup before a meal. If you love soup like I do, I think the corn-and-soy-cream combination is worth trying at least once.

At first, I thought it would be a simple corn soup, but after trying it, the nutty corn flavor with the mildness of the soy base made it quite smooth.

Most of all, the kids ate it well, and I was satisfied because a bowl before my meal was more filling than I expected. Now that the weather is gradually getting cooler, I think I will make myself a bowl whenever I am craving something warm and smooth. 😊

> It is smooth and genuinely delicious!
