While traveling in Sokcho, I stopped by Sokcho Jungang Sanghoe (속초중앙상회), near Sokcho Jungang Market. I ordered the small Pro Gaeorijjim (steamed skate), and the tender skate with corn noodles mixed into the sauce stayed with me.

The restaurant is on the first floor at 28 Jungang-ro 121beon-gil in Sokcho. It is near Sokcho Jungang Market, so it was easy to stop by for a meal after looking around the market. Abai Village, the Gaetbae ferry pier, and Cheongcho Lake Park are also nearby, making it easy to include in a travel itinerary.

We wanted to try the steamed skate itself, so we ordered the small individual serving of Pro Gaeorijjim.

When the food arrived, the red sauce and its sweet-spicy aroma caught my eye and nose first. Even though it was the small size, the portion felt generous to me.

With just a light touch of my chopsticks, the skate meat separated along its grain. It was mild and tender, pairing well with the sweet-spicy sauce that had soaked through it.

During my visit, I joined a review event and received corn noodles as a complimentary item. Mixed with the remaining steamed-skate sauce, the chewy, springy noodles were well coated. It was nice to finish the meal with a texture different from the skate meat.
