Hi, it's Pory 👋 On day 4 of Jeju, I stayed overnight in Seogwipo 🏡 Everyone says you have to eat black pork once you're down in Seogwipo, so I went on another endless search 🔎 Here's my review of Oreumak Garden, a Seogwipo black pork restaurant covered in Blue Ribbons.

Oreumak Garden is a Seogwipo black pork favorite that's won consecutive Blue Ribbons. Unlike its plain exterior, seeing all those Blue Ribbons plastered up got me weirdly excited!!

The interior is spacious and clean. Oh right! It's not in the photo, but there's also a baby playroom and high chairs available 😊

## The dry-aging room that is Oreumak Garden's signature

I looked into why Oreumak Garden is so famous, and apparently they dry-age the pork for a long time using a dry method, which makes the meat softer and tastier 🥩✨ But the price was a bit steep(?) for two people, so we ordered the black pork belly instead!

## How many side dishes come with the meal? 🍲✨

What surprised me most at Oreumak Garden Jungmun Main Branch was the side dishes. We only ordered 2 servings of black pork belly, but the table filled right up with clam soup, steamed egg, house-made tofu, lettuce salad, and even complimentary buttered shrimp.

Honestly, the thing that surprised me the most was just how abundant the side dishes were. No wonder it's called a Seogwipo black pork favorite haha?

They gave us buttered shrimp on the house too. There were so many side dishes to go with the meal, and they even piled on the lettuce salad, so the table was totally full.

Basic clam soup, soft steamed egg, and even savory house-made tofu! We refilled the tofu twice haha.

Right !! So plentiful. My boyfriend and I kept saying 'now I get why Oreumak Garden keeps winning Blue Ribbons' !! Seriously a Seogwipo black pork favorite ..👍

## Black pork belly for two, aged 240 hours

We'd already tried the anti-aging aged meat at another branch, so this time we ordered the standard black pork belly for two. Oreumak Garden's black pork belly is apparently low-temperature aged for over 240 hours.

## Kimchi jjigae packed with thick cuts of pork — order it every time

This is the first time I've ordered kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) as a side! Before visiting Oreumak Garden in Jeju, I did a lot of blog research, you know? And since blog reviews said it comes packed with so much pork belly, I trusted those reviews and ordered it.

Genuinely, all you can say is 'this is insane.' And when eating black pork belly gets a bit rich and heavy, a spoonful of the kimchi jjigae completely resets your palate.

## Why mul-naengmyeon beats bibim-naengmyeon with grilled pork

Whenever I go to a BBQ place, I always order mul-naengmyeon (cold noodle soup). It doesn't have to be Oreumak Garden in Jeju — please, order mul-naengmyeon whenever you're eating grilled meat and pile it on top of your meat... please 🙏

The taste of the meat before ordering mul-naengmyeon versus after is a huge difference!!!!!! From now on, you'll see me ordering mul-naengmyeon in every one of my meat reviews >_<

They kept grilling the meat and cutting it for us throughout the meal, which made everything so easy!

We only ordered 2 servings of black pork belly, but look how many side dishes came with it — the table was completely full !! If you're looking for a black pork restaurant in Jungmun, definitely visit Oreumak Garden in Jeju, which has won consecutive Blue Ribbons ❤️
