## In short

Ttasijia Yeonnam is a Singaporean restaurant in Yeonnam-dong, Seoul, a two-minute walk from Hongik University Station Exit 3 and set inside a converted house; it is said to be the first official Korean branch of Da Shi Jia, a Singapore restaurant recognized by Michelin for six years running. On a date with her husband, the writer ordered the shrimp broth fried noodles with large shrimp (16,500 won), shrimp gukbap with large shrimp (16,500 won), black vinegar sweet and sour pork, small (18,000 won) and 100% fresh-pressed apple juice (7,000 won). Between the exotic exterior, the terrace and the inner room, Ttasijia Yeonnam is a solid pick for an unusual date or group meal in Yeonnam-dong.

A new Singaporean restaurant opened in Yeonnam-dong! There are so many good restaurants in Yeonnam-dong, right...? But I think this is the first Singaporean spot I've seen there. I was curious so I visited with my husband, kind of like a date!

First off, the vibe here is so good ㅠㅠ, and the food is unusual but tasty, so I'd recommend it as a date or gathering spot.

Ttasijia, a Yeonnam-dong restaurant 📍Address: 13-1 Donggyo-ro 38-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea, 1st floor ⏰ Hours: 11:30 - 22:00

## What is Ttasijia Yeonnam? A converted Yeonnam-dong house that feels like a trip abroad

![Exterior of Ttasijia Yeonnam seen from the alley](https://img.superchart.com/images/tashijia-yeonnam-singapore-prawn-date/tashijia-yeonnam-singapore-prawn-date-03-fmj7y-966.webp)

It turns out Ttasijia is the first official Korean branch of 'Da Shi Jia,' a restaurant recognized by Michelin in Singapore for six consecutive years. This vibe grabs your eye right from the alley! The exterior alone is so pretty it steals the show..

![Exotic entrance of Ttasijia Yeonnam, a converted house](https://img.superchart.com/images/tashijia-yeonnam-singapore-prawn-date/tashijia-yeonnam-singapore-prawn-date-04-ypveq-1200.webp)

It's a space that looks like a converted Yeonnam-dong house, but it's so full of exotic feeling that I felt like I was briefly abroad. Before going inside I noticed the terrace, and since it's cooling down these days, isn't it the season for outdoor dining? Eating on the terrace would be so nice too ㅠㅠㅠ

### Inside Ttasijia Yeonnam: terrace and inner room for a date or group meal

Ttasijia Yeonnam has a pretty exterior, and once you go inside the interior keeps the same mood! It seems especially suited to those looking for a great Yeonnam-dong date restaurant. It has a different vibe from the typical Yeonnam-dong restaurant, so it's also good for gatherings with friends, and good for a date when you want to eat something special.🖤

Since it's a converted house I thought it would be spacious, but the inside isn't as big as I expected. Still, the space is well arranged. This area facing the terrace looks great too, and the lighting really sets the mood..🖤

There's one room in the back. There are about 4 tables, and since the windows are big, you can see the outside landscaping well, so it doesn't feel cramped.

The posters decorating the walls looked so stylish!

## What we ordered at Ttasijia Yeonnam on our date

![Full spread of dishes ordered at Ttasijia Yeonnam](https://img.superchart.com/images/tashijia-yeonnam-singapore-prawn-date/tashijia-yeonnam-singapore-prawn-date-11-8gy08-966.webp)

We ordered the shrimp broth fried noodles - large shrimp ₩16,500 / shrimp gukbap - large shrimp ₩16,500 / black vinegar sweet and sour pork (small) ₩18,000 / 100% fresh-pressed apple juice ₩7,000.

![Food and drinks on the table at Ttasijia Yeonnam](https://img.superchart.com/images/tashijia-yeonnam-singapore-prawn-date/tashijia-yeonnam-singapore-prawn-date-12-8b0kd-966.webp)

### Why the 100% fresh-pressed apple juice is a must-order

Ttasijia Yeonnam's 100% fresh-pressed apple juice (₩7,000) was more of a hit than I expected! I ordered it out of curiosity since it's an unusual menu item, and the moment I took a sip it was truly apple through and through, haha.

![100% fresh-pressed apple juice topped with plum](https://img.superchart.com/images/tashijia-yeonnam-singapore-prawn-date/tashijia-yeonnam-singapore-prawn-date-13-4j5np-966.webp)

Since it's 100% pressed juice, rather than being artificially sweet, the true flavor of apple came through really intensely. There's plum on top, and that was the real kicker. This is no ordinary apple juice.. sob sob

### The signature shrimp broth fried noodles, 16,500 won

Such an unusual look, right!! It has a slight Vietnamese.. Southeast Asian scent, but the flavor is different from anything I've had before — unusual, distinctive, and delicious.🖤

![Shrimp broth fried noodles with large shrimp at Ttasijia Yeonnam](https://img.superchart.com/images/tashijia-yeonnam-singapore-prawn-date/tashijia-yeonnam-singapore-prawn-date-14-1r8ga-m-966.webp)

The noodles aren't thick but thin, so the broth soaks in well and they're easy to slurp up. There was meat in it too so it was heartier than expected, and best of all, the shrimp! Since the menu name specifically says large shrimp, the shrimp itself is big and tender..

![Thin noodles lifted from the shrimp broth fried noodles](https://img.superchart.com/images/tashijia-yeonnam-singapore-prawn-date/tashijia-yeonnam-singapore-prawn-date-16-3999u-966.webp)

Those bits in the middle? Looked kind of like garlic chips.. I'm not sure exactly what they were, but the umami was next level.. The broth itself is delicious too, so rolling up the noodles and slurping them was just the best.

### Shrimp gukbap: a hot bowl you can finish to the last spoonful

Even the name 'shrimp gukbap' is unusual, and the look was fascinating too, haha. From above you can't see it well because of the broth, but there's a ton of rice inside!!

The broth is so rich that it went really well with the rice. If you're someone who normally likes pho or Southeast Asian food, you'd definitely like this, and it's even filling.. The shrimp was really big here too.. Actually the broth alone was so tasty on its own that my spoon kept going back for more, haha.

This felt like the kind of dish guys would like, and sure enough my husband loved it. I liked the shrimp broth fried noodles / my husband liked the shrimp gukbap.

### Black vinegar sweet and sour pork: sweet, crispy and worth adding

It felt like a waste to eat just the mains, so we also ordered the black vinegar sweet and sour pork (small) ₩18,000, and the portion was just right as a side.

It's crispy outside and the sauce is sweet, so it paired well with the rich shrimp broth dishes. Since the mains are centered on broth and noodles, adding the crispy sweet and sour pork changed up the texture too, making the combo even better.

If you're visiting as a group, I'd also recommend adding one order of sweet and sour pork on top of individual mains to share!

## Honest review: is Ttasijia Yeonnam worth it in Yeonnam-dong?

There are so many good restaurants in Yeonnam-dong, but if you're looking for something different from the usual pasta, meat, or Japanese food, I'd recommend Ttasijia Yeonnam. The exotic vibe from the entrance gives you a travel-like feeling, and the rarity of Singaporean food makes it even more special!

- Those looking for an unusual date spot in Yeonnam-dong
- Those looking for a great-atmosphere gathering spot in Yeonnam-dong
- Those who like trying new dishes they haven't had before
- Those curious about Singaporean food (the shrimp is amazing)

Especially on a nice day, you can even use the terrace seats, so hurry over there..🖤
