Hi, I'm Chunsam, dead serious about dessert. A fluffy soufflé with seasonal fruit? I went to check out Petrico, a café near Hapjeong Station.

## 7 minutes from Hapjeong Station Exit 2, conditional parking

This place sits right in front of the Communication True building. It's a 7-minute walk from Hapjeong Station Exit 2, where Line 2 and Line 6 meet, so it's very easy to get to.

Parking is available after 6pm; before that, I'd suggest using the nearby Seogyo-dong parking lot.

## A spacious, cozy wood-toned interior

The inside of this Hapjeong café is genuinely spacious, comfortable, and cozy. The light pours in in a way that makes you feel warm and at ease. The relaxed wood-toned interior and modern décor pieces just warm your heart.

### Solo diners and foreign guests even in the early morning

Even though I visited in the early morning, there were solo diners and foreign guests having brunch all around. As I drank my coffee, more and more people kept coming in, so by lunchtime it seems like the place would be packed. Notably there were a lot of female customers — if you're looking for a date spot near Hongdae, I'd definitely recommend this one.

## Soufflé is the star of the menu, plus granita and tarts

The menu here is led by fluffy soufflé. You can also find granita, which isn't common elsewhere, and tarts — plenty of tempting desserts. After some deliberation, I went with the fruit soufflé and an iced café vanilla.

### The soufflé wait is 20-30 minutes

Since the soufflé at this Hapjeong café is made to order, it takes 20 to 30 minutes. If you're short on time, calling ahead to order is a great option! They asked if I'd like my drink first, and since I had plenty of time, I went ahead and wet my whistle first.

I heard there were three bean options — nutty, sour, and decaf — and picked the sour one. I've always thought a bold, sour-toned espresso pairs really well with milk, and it truly did not disappoint. It was refreshing to enjoy a not-too-sweet, bright-tasting latte again after a while.

## The fruit soufflé — the plate size alone was a surprise

About 20 minutes later, feeling pleasantly zoned out, I heard my number called. Photos really didn't prepare me for the scale — both the plate and the pancakes are genuinely huge..! Much bigger than I imagined, which was both surprising and satisfying.

Banana, blueberry, orange, gold kiwi — fresh, bright seasonal fruit piled high. Alongside that, cream, syrup, and two freshly made fluffy soufflé pancakes — truly generous. This is a full meal's worth of food even without ordering anything else.

### Soft enough that you don't need a knife

They give you a knife, but at this Hapjeong café you really won't need it. Just look at how it falls apart with the gentlest touch. This big, thick, pillowy pancake is basically love itself.

The bright fruit is fresh and sweet-tart, perfect for a vitamin boost. The banana brûlée has proper caramelization, giving it a genuinely fun, crisp crunch. The platter option comes with salad and sausage for a real brunch feel — there's fun in picking your menu based on the day's mood.

The cream piled up beside it is packed with rich milk flavor. It's on the sweet side, so it's plenty even without drizzling on the syrup separately! Scooping up a big dollop with the pancake added a whole extra layer of softness — pure bliss in every bite.

Dipping the fluffy soufflé into whipped cream, then grabbing a bite of seasonal fruit, back and forth — it's genuinely fun switching between them, and sipping the not-too-sweet café vanilla in between makes the late-summer heat melt away. This really felt like paradise.

## My takeaway from the visit

So after visiting this Hapjeong café, my personal takeaway is that it's a blissful dessert spot with fluffy soufflé and seasonal fruit. Strong coffee, top-tier desserts, and a beautiful space to boot. It's a café that draws in plenty of foreign visitors too, so if you want to soak up some relaxed vibes, give it a visit!
