There are so many restaurants around Gangnam Station that it's easy to get stuck choosing, but that day I wanted a proper seafood rice bowl, so I stopped in. If you're looking for a good kaisendon spot near Gangnam Station, this is worth a visit. And here's the signature unagi-don I ordered alongside it! With its big, appetizing eel on top, it had a totally different feel from the kaisendon. If you love eel, this visual will make your head spin lol. Eating the soft eel together with the rice really was a great combination. As someone who loves seafood I'd go for the kaisendon, but for eel lovers the unagi-don is the way to go — you can pick based on your taste. If you're looking for good eel near Gangnam Station and want a rice bowl too, unagi-don is a solid choice! Once we'd finished the mains, the cold udon dessert arrived at the end! Even though we were pretty full, it was refreshing and light — a great way to wrap things up. After a warm main dish, finishing with cold udon to cleanse the palate turned out to be a better combination than I expected. Final thoughts What I liked about this visit to Ilpum Gangnam Branch was getting to enjoy both kaisendon and unagi-don together. The clean table seats and bar seats made for a good atmosphere, and looking at the celebrity autographs was fun too haha. Best of all, starting with chawanmushi and finishing with cold udon dessert made the whole meal feel complete from start to end!
