The table next to me looked like they were on a meal date, haha. ## How long is the dinner wait at Sonsi Sushi? Even when Sonsi Sushi Yeungnam University Main Branch was full at dinner, I got in within about 15 minutes. I visited right at dinnertime, and sure enough there were lots of customers. If just one table had opened up, I could've sat right down!! 💦 There were like 78,945,394 tables that had just sat down, but luckily the wait wasn't as long as I expected!! Seats turned over quickly, so I got in within 15 minutes~! I also liked that there were partitions between our table and the next one! Overall there were a lot of 2-seat tables, and only about two 4-seat tables, so if you're coming as a group of three or more, the wait might be a bit longer!! The overall vibe inside is calm and clean with wood tones and lighting, haha. ## Menu and prices — futomaki, 5pc for 10,000 won Sonsi Sushi's set menu combos are so good that most tables seemed to be ordering sets! Of course, I did too, haha. And since it's right in front of the school, the lunch-special value set is such a great deal!! It also seems like a great way to enjoy a clean sushi spread all at once 👏 All the sushi comes with katsuo udon included, and for just 1,000 won more you can upgrade to the large size! And the futomaki is 5pc for 10,000 won, so it's a must-try, best-value item! Even the little bowl was so cute, and they give kids a utensil set too — total sense of thoughtfulness. Compared to the 10-piece version, the 12-piece premium aged nigiri had monkfish liver gunkan and freshwater eel nigiri added, so I'm glad I upgraded, haha. The monkfish liver gunkan had so much monkfish liver piled on that it was enough to share! I've seen a lot of people making monkfish liver gimbap at home lately, but this really had that upscale flavor...!! It was so good, phew,, They said the dipping soy sauce is the country's first sushi soy sauce made with jujubes! Made with jujube, a Gyeongsan specialty. The tangy-spicy sauce went really well with the sashimi and vegetables, rivaling dedicated sashimi rice bowl restaurants!! And the vinegar sauce is handmade apple vinegar! Especially when ordering the set for two, you get to share everything from nigiri to the rice bowl, which felt way more satisfying than sticking to just one dish! Having a fried item alongside the sushi made it perfect for sharing between two people, haha. One-line verdict When I checked the bill, there were wet wipes, hand cream, a hair tie, and a portable battery. From the sun umbrella to these little touches, the owner's thoughtfulness was next level..🙈🙊👍!! It wasn't just about making delicious sushi, but I could tell everywhere that they carefully thought about how to make things more comfortable for guests. I think these small touches, added up, are why it's been loved consistently for 11 years!
