I'd heard its jjukkumi (spicy stir-fried webfoot octopus) was so good that I got curious, so this time I placed a takeout order myself instead of getting delivery~ There is no dedicated parking at the shop, but since I was only picking up takeout, it was fine to pull over briefly in front and grab it quickly. I rushed in and out in about one or two minutes, then headed straight home haha. My younger sibling was coming over for the first time in a while, so I thought the three of us should have a proper feast and ordered three portions haha. Jjukkumi is delicious on its own, but I immediately loved that this set pairs spicy jjukkumi with mild bossam. The 3-person set came with a whopping two packs of jjukkumi! Once I had made a plate of round little rice balls, we were truly ready to eat. The first thing that caught my eye was the vivid red, delicious-looking jjukkumi sauce. It was mild and delicious even on its own, but while eating, I suddenly tried dipping it in the jjukkumi sauce. Wow... this combination was amazing hahaha. The spicy jjukkumi sauce with the soft, mild bossam worked so well that it felt like a completely different dish. It was delicious to eat a piece of jjukkumi and bossam together, and adding ssammu or vegetables made the balance of spicy and mild just right! When I first opened the takeout containers, the portions were so plentiful that I thought, “We're going to have leftovers, aren't we?” But no way... the three of us finished every last bite hahaha. It was that kind of flavor—you just kept reaching for more. Honestly, I think it would have been so delicious to stir-fry rice in the leftover jjukkumi sauce at the end, but we were already way too full, so we had to give up on fried rice...ㅠㅠ The sauce was so good that next time, I want to save some room from the start and properly finish with fried rice too! Yajju Yajju was satisfying from the generous jjukkumi portions to its tender texture and lively, spicy sauce! Above all, the pairing of mild bossam and spicy jjukkumi worked far better than I expected, so it really stuck with me. If you want a generous, easy meal at home or are looking for jjukkumi delivery or takeout to share with several people, I recommend trying the jjukkumi and bossam set~!
