(I've been going since it was still Paldeok Restaurant, hahaha.) I love spicy braised pork ribs, so this is a place that pops into my head sometimes — worth checking out if you're looking for a meat restaurant near Baekseok Station. There's a space outside where you can wait. At Jimidang you can choose the spice level of the braised pork ribs to your taste. I'm not exactly bad with spicy food, but really spicy stuff is tough for me, so I picked level 1, which is about like Shin Ramyun! They said level 2 is like Buldak, and there are even spicier levels above that. For my taste it was just the right amount of spicy-good, so I could eat it without worry. That red sauce over there — when you dip it, it actually tastes like soy sauce. Red but it's soy sauce! As it started bubbling away, a spicy smell rose up and my appetite kicked in right away. There were plenty of bean sprouts and green onions in there, which went great with the pork ribs too. We used tongs and scissors to cut up the ribs so they were easy to eat. The sauce was soaked in just enough that a bite of meat followed by a bite of gondre rice (dried gondre-namul mixed rice) was exactly right. They gave us a lot of rice too, so eating a whole bowl with the braised ribs made me super full, haha. If two women go together, splitting it in half would probably work well too. Among the meat restaurants in Baekseok-dong, being able to eat spicy braised ribs together with gondre rice like this feels like Jimidang's charm. Hair ties and dental floss were set aside separately too, which gave a small but thoughtful impression. Next time I'm looking for a meat restaurant near Baekseok Station and craving something spicy, I think Jimidang's Ilsan braised ribs will come to mind again.
