Whenever the weather's nice, Dongtan Lake Park is the place my family heads to for a walk. This past weekend, after my husband, our baby and I made a full loop around the lake, we got hungry. Craving something cool and spicy, I looked up baby-friendly restaurants nearby and found 'Naengmyeon Gajun Dongtan Main Branch,' a naengmyeon (cold noodle) specialty spot that's been buzzing lately as a go-to Dongtan Lake Park restaurant.

Prices were great and the food was excellent — both my husband and I left happy. Here's our honest review, paid for out of our own pocket!

Naengmyeon Gajun Dongtan Main Branch sits on the 2nd floor of Luna Gallery, right in front of Dongtan Lake Park — you can walk straight in from a stroll in the park, which is about as convenient as it gets. For families moving around with a baby like us, parking and elevator access are the make-or-break factors, right? The in-building parking lot here was wide and comfortable, so loading and unloading the stroller was no trouble at all. It's also the perfect spot to build into a Dongtan Lake Park outing.

Walking inside, the interior was more spacious and clean than expected. The natural light pouring in through the floor-to-ceiling windows was lovely, and the tables were spaced generously so we didn't feel awkward parking the stroller beside us or setting up a baby chair. The staff greeted our baby with warm smiles too, so even though it was a dine-out with a baby, we felt at ease from the very start.

True to its name, Naengmyeon Gajun Dongtan Main Branch specializes in kudzu naengmyeon, with mul naengmyeon (cold noodle soup) and bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles) as the stars — but knowing that Koreans often feel naengmyeon alone isn't quite enough, they also offer hearty meat set menus! Both my husband and I love meat, so without hesitation we both ordered the 'bibim kudzu naengmyeon + soy sauce pork belly set.' Given how high prices have gotten these days, the value here was genuinely great, so we could enjoy it without guilt.
