## In short

Madam Hao is a Hanoi-style Vietnamese restaurant tucked behind the Ajou University food alley in Yeongtong-gu, Suwon. On a Sunday around noon, a family lunch with a child meant ordering beef brisket pho for 11,000 won and bun cha for 13,000 won at the tableside kiosk, and the pho arrived piled with brisket while the bun cha looked exactly like the version served in Nha Trang. With its own parking lot, a photo zone and hours running to 3am, Madam Hao suits both a family meal and a late drink.

We had a family meal at Madam Hao, a pho spot near Ajou University that's great for a hearty lunch during the day and just as good for a light drink in the evening. 👍

There's a parking lot right in front of the restaurant, so it's easy to drive there, and there's also a pretty photo zone for taking pictures. 📷

We came around noon on a Sunday for lunch, and there were already a lot of people eating! The overall mood is warm, clean, and pretty — great for a family meal with kids like us, and just as good for a date. 💛

## Kiosk ordering and lunch prices at Madam Hao

If you leave a Naver receipt review, they give you 2 pieces of cha gio (Vietnamese spring rolls), so make sure to take part if you visit! We ordered

at Madam Hao! They also serve alcohol here, so it's a place that transforms from a filling daytime meal into a great-vibe evening spot near Ajou University. 🍺

Each table has a tidy set of sauces, and there's a kind note explaining 'how to enjoy Madam Hao's food' so even Vietnamese food beginners can dig in without worry!

After ordering, they bring cold water and shrimp chips, which are crispy and savory — great for snacking while waiting for the food. 😋

## Beef brisket pho, ₩11,000: deep, rich broth

Here's Madam Hao's beef brisket pho! The bowl is piled generously high with big chunks of brisket. 👏

The brisket is sliced really thin and tender, melting the moment it hits your mouth.

![Crunchy bean sprouts inside the pho](https://img.superchart.com/images/madam-hao-suwon-ajou-pho-bun-cha/madam-hao-suwon-ajou-pho-bun-cha-17-xz44j-900.webp)

![A bite of beef and noodles picked up together](https://img.superchart.com/images/madam-hao-suwon-ajou-pho-bun-cha/madam-hao-suwon-ajou-pho-bun-cha-19-1xm4c-900.webp)

Lifting the meat aside with chopsticks, I found crunchy bean sprouts underneath and a generous heap of rice noodles too! One sip of the broth revealed a deep, savory beef flavor, with the salty, rich broth soaking beautifully into the soft noodles.

It's a clean, mellow flavor that even the kid ate happily, and picking up the beef and noodles together warms you right up and fills you up. The portion is huge too, so it's great value — pho lovers, you have to try this! 🫶

## Bun cha, ₩13,000: just like the plates in Nha Trang

The bun cha (grilled pork with noodles) comes out generously, looking exactly like what I remembered eating in Nha Trang! Even the plain serving of rice noodles is very generous. 👍

The pork is well seasoned with a sweet-and-salty glaze and so tender that it's delicious eaten on its own. There's no skimping on the amount of meat either!

Following the tips written for enjoying the dish, I put the rice noodles, fresh vegetables, and nicely grilled pork into a bowl,🥗 added just the right amount of the spicy-sweet-salty bun cha sauce, mixed it well, and took a bite!

The sauce's spicy, sweet, salty flavor soaked well into the moist rice noodles, and wrapping it with the crunchy fresh vegetables and meat felt clean yet genuinely healthy and delicious. I went to Nha Trang last year, and this had that same local feel — actually more delicious than what I had there. 🤤
