The interior is clean and upscale too, an overall calm Korean-dining vibe that would work well for group gatherings. It seemed like it'd be great for a Chuseok family meal too, though sadly they're closed the whole holiday :)

Being an open kitchen, you can watch the meat being prepped right in front of you, and it clearly looked clean and hygienically managed — made this Hongdae lunch spot feel even more trustworthy.

Whenever I want to know if a Korean restaurant is truly good, I always try the kimchi — and here, you can already tell from the look of it! Properly made kkakdugi (diced radish kimchi) and napa cabbage kimchi that paired perfectly with the gomtang :)

## The yukhoe bibimbap my 9-year-old niece gave a thumbs-up

My 9-year-old niece ordered the yukhoe bibimbap — she's a kid who knows good food, haha — and after just one bite, she gave it an instant thumbs-up!

## How the clear hanwoo gomtang tastes

This is the clear hanwoo gomtang! Not too intense, with a nice clean, refreshing flavor. I personally like a gomtang broth with no oil floating on top, and this was exactly that kind of clean soup.

The meat included various cuts like shank and brisket, with no gamey smell at all, and a tender, nutty texture. Dipping it in the seasoning sauce makes it even better.

## Hanwoo gopchang jeongol, and adding extra tripe

This is the hanwoo gopchang jeongol! The presentation is wild! I ordered it because the reviews were great, and one look told me why. The portion of tripe packed in was generous — made me so happy, haha.

This one gets richer the longer it simmers, so I'd recommend letting it boil properly. It's on the spicier side too, so it'd probably work great as a hangover cure!!

Since it's hanwoo gopchang, there was absolutely zero gamey smell, and the texture was incredibly tender and chewy, with the tripe's natural flavor being genuinely nutty. I added extra hanwoo gopchang right after the first bite, hehe.

If you're looking for a proper Hongdae Korean restaurant for lunch, I highly recommend Doonjeong, where you can try everything from yukhoe bibimbap to gomtang to gopchang jeongol! The atmosphere is upscale and calm, making it a genuine recommendation for taking your parents or hosting a group gathering too.
