## In short

Jin Seiromushi is a Korean seafood and cypress-steamed-food restaurant in Sokcho, Gangwon. I had a soy-marinated red crab set meal and a soy-marinated shrimp set meal for breakfast, with stone-pot rice and many side dishes. The red crab was sweet and savory rather than overly salty, and the spacious seating made it feel suitable for a family meal.

While traveling in Sokcho, I went to Jin Seiromushi (진 세이로무시) for breakfast. We ordered one soy-marinated red crab set meal and one soy-marinated shrimp set meal, served with stone-pot rice and various side dishes.

## Where is it, and is parking convenient?

The address is 13 Seonsa-ro 2-gil, Sokcho-si. It is close to Sokcho Express Bus Terminal, Cheongcho Lake, and Sokcho Beach.

The parking lot was large, so I felt it would be easy to park even if you drive.

## Is it a good space for a meal with parents or family?

When I entered, the dining hall felt spacious and open. The interior decor was fairly elaborate, but the roominess kept it from feeling cramped.

There were also private rooms that would work for family gatherings or a meal with parents. I thought they would be nice when you want to dine in a separate space.

When I visited, the atmosphere was calm and neat. It gave me the impression that it would be nice to come with parents.

From four-person tables to group seating, the tables were arranged with plenty of room. There was also ample space between tables, so I could eat comfortably without bumping into neighboring diners.

## Which set meals did I order, and what came with them?

The restaurant specializes in seafood and cypress-steamed dishes. Along with the soy-marinated red crab set meal, there were soy-marinated shrimp, abalone, and blue crab set meals. We used the tablet at our table to order one soy-marinated red crab set meal and one soy-marinated shrimp set meal.

The table was generously filled with side dishes including fish, a meat dish, japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), seasoned vegetables, and gim (dried seaweed). The doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew) was savory and refreshing, with seafood broth blended with doenjang. Taking spoonfuls of the broth while eating the salty red crab went well together.

The stone-pot rice that came with the meal was memorable too. Each grain was distinct, and the surface was moist and glossy. A subtle sweetness came through as I chewed.

## What did the soy-marinated red crab taste like, and how did I eat it with stone-pot rice?

The soy-marinated red crab had moist crab meat inside its red shell.

I mixed warm stone-pot rice into the tomalley inside the crab shell. Its nutty flavor combined with a taste of the sea, which was especially memorable.

The red crab meat was tender and moist. To me, its sweet, savory umami came through before the saltiness, and I did not notice any fishiness. Even my companion, who normally does not eat much soy-marinated crab, ate the food here well.

## How were the soy-marinated shrimp and side dishes?

The soy-marinated shrimp had a rich, nutty flavor from the innards, along with a pop of roe. The soy seasoning was salty, while the shrimp's sweetness came through more as I chewed.

The grilled fish was golden on the outside and moist inside. It was not salty, so it went well with rice. The meat side dish was also tender and moist, with a sweet soy-based seasoning.

Overall, the side dishes did not feel overly strongly seasoned. After eating stone-pot rice mixed with soy-marinated red crab and the various side dishes, I felt full and satisfied. The space was roomy too, and I would like to return with family next time.
