These days, even for a single meal, I try to think about carbs, protein and fat and get some vegetables and protein in together. But if I just eat salad every time, I get hungry way too fast lol

So I went looking for something filling but still clean, and ended up visiting Salering's Gyodae branch this time.

Walking in, the whole place felt clean and tidy.

Especially since the kitchen is open, so you can see the food being prepared. I'm the type who feels reassured when the kitchen or food prep area looks clean when picking a restaurant, so the first impression was already good.

Maybe because it's near Gyodae Station, it looked good for a quick lunch or eating solo. There were people casually dining alone too!! I actually packed mine to take out that day, and I felt it'd be convenient for lunch on a busy day.

I also picked an iced americano to have with it. It comes topped with grilled steak, brown rice, vegetables, cherry tomatoes, quail eggs, and crispy onion chips.

All packed into one bowl like this, it was colorful and good-looking, and even looked appetizing just to eat... my appetite kicked in~~ :) As a meat lover, honestly, the generous amount of steak on top won me over the moment I saw it.

When I eat poke, I usually grab a piece of the meat first lol. Trying the grilled steak, the meat wasn't tough at all — it was tender.

The slightly charred parts had that distinct grilled aroma, and the meat itself had a mild flavor, so it went well with the vegetables. Since it's poke with steak in it, it doesn't feel like it's just loaded with vegetables — it's definitely filling.

Taking a spoonful of brown rice, steak and vegetables together tasted way better than eating each on its own. And I liked biting into the crispy onion chips here and there too.

Having something crispy between the soft rice and meat made it even tastier. I ate the cherry tomatoes one by one and the quail eggs too, so the bowl ends up feeling quite substantial.
