## In short

1992 Deopbap & Jjageuli Gangnam Main Branch is a Korean restaurant near Gangnam Station in Seoul serving rice bowls and jjageuli (thick stew). The mixed doenjang jjageuli (beef brisket + sausage + king dumplings) with added ramyeon noodles was mild in spice by default, so an extra spicy option is worth asking for, and it came with beef tartare (100g) and pumpkin sikhye (rice punch) on the side. With bar seats for solo diners, tables, and outdoor seating, it's a solid pick for lunch near Gangnam Station.

Today I'm bringing you a review of '1992 Deopbap & Jjageuli Gangnam Main Branch,' a Korean restaurant near Gangnam Station.

1992 Deopbap & Jjageuli is a Korean restaurant specializing in deopbap (rice bowls) and jjageuli (thick stew). It's close to Gangnam Station, so it's great for lunch, and with plenty of solo-dining seats, it seemed like a good fit for office workers too.

Let me walk you through the atmosphere, the menu lineup, and an honest taste review of what I actually ordered.

## What's the interior and seating like?

The restaurant had an Asian-painting-style folding screen interior that suited the Korean food theme.

There was a good variety of seating — bar-style seats great for eating alone, tables for groups, and outdoor seating as well.

When I visited, I noticed quite a few foreign customers too — probably because it's close to Gangnam Station, so a diverse crowd was dining there.

## The menu and what I ordered that day

As the name suggests, the menu centers on deopbap and jjageuli. The deopbap options include chadol (thin-sliced beef brisket), bulgogi, octopus, and more, while the jjageuli lineup includes yukgaejang (spicy beef soup), kimchi, spam, and other varieties.

That day I ordered the mixed doenjang jjageuli (beef brisket + sausage + king dumplings) for ₩18,900. I added ramyeon noodles for ₩2,000, plus beef tartare (100g) for ₩4,000 and pumpkin sikhye (350ml) for ₩4,500 as sides. 😀

## How was the mixed doenjang jjageuli with ramyeon noodles?

Here it comes—!

### 🍲 Mixed doenjang jjageuli + ramyeon noodles

![Mixed doenjang jjageuli with beef brisket, sausage ingredients, and king dumplings](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-doenjang-jjaglee-ramen-noodles/gangnam-doenjang-jjaglee-ramen-noodles-15-v4tkr-966.webp)

![Doenjang jjageuli with added ramyeon noodles](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-doenjang-jjaglee-ramen-noodles/gangnam-doenjang-jjaglee-ramen-noodles-16-16l15-966.webp)

The mixed doenjang jjageuli comes with beef brisket, sausage-stew ingredients, and king dumplings — it had a budae-jjigae (army stew) vibe, so I added ramyeon noodles too! The noodles pair well with it, but they soften fast, so eat up quickly!!

### 🌶️ Adjusting the spice

You can also choose your spice level when ordering. I went with the default level, and to my taste it was almost not spicy at all — really mild. (Probably because there are a lot of foreign customers!) If you're Korean and love that sharp, spicy kick jjageuli usually has, I'd definitely recommend adding the spicy option!

![Beef brisket, tofu, and zucchini inside the jjageuli](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-doenjang-jjaglee-ramen-noodles/gangnam-doenjang-jjaglee-ramen-noodles-17-16otm-966.webp)

There was a generous amount of beef brisket in the jjageuli. It had no gamey smell and was savory and tender.

Besides the brisket, there were vegetables like tofu and zucchini, and several kinds of ham from the sausage-stew ingredients — fun to pick through as you eat.😀

The king dumplings were big and generously filled too! Overall, it was a menu where you get to enjoy lots of different ingredients together — I loved it.👍👍👍

### 🍳 The rice

![Bowl of rice topped with a fried egg](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-doenjang-jjaglee-ramen-noodles/gangnam-doenjang-jjaglee-ramen-noodles-18-14qh4-966.webp)

![Rice topped with gim garu and sesame oil](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-doenjang-jjaglee-ramen-noodles/gangnam-doenjang-jjaglee-ramen-noodles-19-7yai6-966.webp)

![A spoonful of rice mixed with gim garu and sesame oil](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-doenjang-jjaglee-ramen-noodles/gangnam-doenjang-jjaglee-ramen-noodles-20-uazh2-966.webp)

They also gave gim garu (seasoned seaweed flakes) and sesame oil, so mixing them into the rice topped with a fried egg was delicious on its own, and just as good eaten with the jjageuli!😃

![Basic side dishes served with the jjageuli](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-doenjang-jjaglee-ramen-noodles/gangnam-doenjang-jjaglee-ramen-noodles-21-163n9-966.webp)

The side dishes that came along were also great to pair with the jjageuli and rice.

## Great sides: beef tartare and pumpkin sikhye

### 🥩 Beef tartare side (100g)

![Beef tartare side dish (100g) tossed in gochujang sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-doenjang-jjaglee-ramen-noodles/gangnam-doenjang-jjaglee-ramen-noodles-22-1kpxy-966.webp)

I also ordered the beef tartare side dish alongside the jjageuli. At ₩4,000, it wasn't a heavy add-on for a meal, and tossed in a gochujang-based spicy sauce, it was great to eat in between bites of the milder jjageuli!

### 🥤 Pumpkin sikhye

![A glass of pumpkin sikhye with slushy ice](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-doenjang-jjaglee-ramen-noodles/gangnam-doenjang-jjaglee-ramen-noodles-23-4peea-966.webp)

You absolutely have to try this sikhye (rice punch)….!!!

It was packed with slushy ice, so it was really refreshing to drink, and just sweet enough to pair well with Korean food!!

Especially after eating the hot jjageuli and spicy tartare, a cool sip of sikhye made my mouth feel clean and refreshed — I was glad I ordered it.

### 🍪 Dessert: yakgwa

![Mini yakgwa served after the meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-doenjang-jjaglee-ramen-noodles/gangnam-doenjang-jjaglee-ramen-noodles-24-1o8t1-966.webp)

Finally, I wrapped up the meal with the mini yakgwa (honey cookie) that came with the table.

## In summary

With a wide variety of seating, this place was comfortable whether you're eating alone or with a group.

The menu also centers on deopbap and jjageuli, with a range of rice bowl options like chadol, bulgogi, and octopus, plus various jjageuli varieties like yukgaejang, kimchi, and spam — plenty to choose from depending on your taste.

If you're looking for a place near Gangnam Station to enjoy a hearty variety of Korean dishes, '1992 Deopbap & Jjageuli Gangnam Main Branch' is worth a visit.
