We went around 2pm on a Saturday — kind of an awkward hour, so I figured it'd be quiet, but it was actually pretty busy. We've actually been coming here since before the twins turned two. I still remember how the staff used to fuss over them when they were babies. :) When your kids are little, it means so much just to feel welcomed at a restaurant. Since we had the kids with us, we went with clear broth + spicy broth! Dadam Shabu Shabu is all-you-can-eat beef, so there's beef neck and beef belly ready in the fridge. The vegetables and meat are genuinely fresh and impeccably kept. I really love shabu-shabu and wolnamssam (Vietnamese fresh rolls), so I've been to a lot of places. But here, it's spotless every single time. That day I actually dropped a piece of pineapple for the wraps, and when I passed by again a moment later... it was already cleaned up. Haha. It's not just the food areas that stay clean. When customers left, I watched staff clear the table and immediately sweep the floor around it too. It sounds so simple but they're so good. Haha. Up until age three, they sat in a high chair, so even with a hot pot on the table it was manageable. Meat only!! 🤣 But once I told him wolnamssam was Vietnamese food, he suddenly wanted to try it too, and said, "Just put in cucumber, carrot, radish, and meat!" I made him one with just what he wanted, and he ate it well too. Watching the twins these days, I really feel how much they've grown. Seeing them try foods they used to refuse makes me realize we can eat out together at more and more places now. :) When kids eat well while we're out, moms just feel proud for no real reason. Haha. Dining time is 2 hours, and parking is supported for 3 hours. Instead of a fixed set for two, you pack the broth, meat, and wrap ingredients yourself, in whatever amounts you want. For big eaters like me, coming in person for the all-you-can-eat is the better deal, haha, but if you love it but can't eat a lot, packing exactly what you need also sounds like a great option. ## Why I keep coming back to Dadam Shabu Shabu I've been to many shabu-shabu and wolnamssam restaurants, but the reasons I keep coming back to Dadam Shabu Shabu are clear: fresh vegetables and meat, a spotlessly maintained restaurant, and kind staff. It feels a little strange, in a good way, to be back at the place we visited when the twins were babies not even two years old, now eating wolnamssam together at age four. :) The food and the restaurant are exactly the same — it's just our twins who've grown so much.
