Arriving at 11:30am on a weekend with 4-year-old twins, the writer found the basement lot full and parked instead at the nearby Technotown basement lot, free for 4 hours, then took a table near the playroom and alternated between sushi and dessert. The Kuu Kuu I'd been to before had a slightly dated interior though, which was a bit of a letdown. But then I saw a neighbor's post about Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, and the space looked bright and clean, with a really huge variety of food. A staff member directed us to the nearby Technotown basement lot, which was free for 4 hours at the time of our visit. There's a wedding hall in the building, so weekends seem to get extra crowded when the parking overlaps with ceremony times. ## Inside Kuu Kuu Nowon: cleaner than expected It wasn't even noon yet, but quite a lot of people were already eating. Just like I'd imagined from the photos, the space was bright and clean! At the entrance they confirm your party size and seat you, and since we had kids with us, we asked for a table close to the playroom. At first I looked around wondering where the playroom even was — turns out it isn't an open area but a separate room. From our seats we could see the playroom entrance, so we could keep an eye on the twins going in and out. ## The playroom, open to children up to age 7 The playroom at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is open to children up to age 7, as posted. Hahaha. We could hear them giggling all the way from our table, so they were clearly having a blast. They didn't play as long as I expected though. Why? Because... they came out for ice cream, came out again for fruit, saw the slushie machine and came out wanting that too 🤣 I honestly couldn't tell if the playroom made things easier, or if all the desserts just made everyone busier. The sushi didn't come pre-loaded with wasabi, so you could add as much as you wanted yourself. That meant our sushi-loving twins could dig right in — and being shrimp sushi fans, they naturally started with shrimp sushi first! Actually, the very first thing that caught the twins' eyes wasn't sushi at all... it was waffles. Hahaha. They had a blast trying a bit of everything. ## Far more than sushi: the range of food at Kuu Kuu Nowon Once the kids were settled, I got down to serious eating myself. Kuu Kuu is famous for its sushi, of course. Not just the sushi but the other dishes and desserts too — so many choices that it seemed like a great spot for families whose members all want something different. ## The dessert corner the twins liked best And then there was the dessert corner, which was maybe even more important to the twins than the sushi. Hahaha. With 8 kinds of ice cream and 4 kinds of gujeul (scoop) ice cream, there was plenty to pick from. At a buffet you usually have to keep getting up to grab food, which can make things even more chaotic with young kids. But Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch had plenty of food the kids could eat plus a playroom, making it an easy spot for a family meal out. > "Let's only look for restaurants with playrooms from now on." That's what my husband and I ended up saying while sitting there eating peacefully while the twins were in the playroom. Hahaha. Of course, in reality they kept coming out for ice cream 🤣 Weekend parking was a bit of a hassle, but overall it was a very satisfying place to eat with 4-year-olds.
