The mellow curry flavor mixed with the savory brisket made it feel so much richer than plain curry alone. The real point is scooping up the rice, brisket, and cream curry all together in one bite! As the curry soaks between the grains of rice and you bite into the brisket at the same time, the flavor and texture shift a little with each spoonful, which I loved. Personally I'm a fan of curry with meat in it, so I really enjoyed this. The cream curry side was soft and mellow, easy to eat without being too intense, while the special curry side had its own distinctly Japanese curry flavor, different from the cream side. It looks gorgeous too — and with half-and-half, if you get tired of the cream curry you can just switch to the special side. You can also add toppings like a fried egg! The contrast between the soft curry texture and the crunchy tempura is a great palate reset between bites! Fresh out of the fryer, piping hot, and absolutely delicious — your eyes widen the moment you take a bite.
