## How close is it to Hyehwa Station, and how late is it open?

On a Friday evening in late August 2026, I was looking for an izakaya for a second round and visited Hanamato Daehangno Hyehwa (하나마토 대학로혜화). It was about a three-minute walk from Exit 4 of Hyehwa Station, so it was easy to find.

The original post listed its hours as 4:00 PM to 3:00 AM the following day, with last orders at 2:10 AM. It also stated that Naver reservations were available.

## What were the counter seats and terrace like?

The outdoor terrace caught my eye as soon as I arrived. It had a roof and looked suitable even on a rainy day, but it was still hot on the day I visited, so I went inside.

Inside, there were counter seats suited to one or two people, as well as group seating for larger parties. I took a counter seat.

The space in front of the counter was an open kitchen, so I could watch the skewers being grilled up close.

One side of the restaurant also sold keychains and snacks, which was fun to browse for a moment.

## What did I order for a second round, and how much was it?

The signature dishes were oden and yakitori. There were also more filling dishes such as motsunabe, Nagasaki champon, and pasta. I focused my order on the oden and yakitori set, then also had a ginkgo skewer and mango sherbet.

Prices are from my visit in late August 2026. At the time, the restaurant also advertised a highball with a Naver reservation, two chicken-heart skewers for writing a Naver receipt review, and one canned drink with an order of two bottles of Saero soju.

The draft beer and soju came out first after I ordered. At ₩3,500 a glass, the draft beer felt reasonably priced to me.

### Can you keep the oden broth warm until the end?

The five kinds of oden (fish cake stew) arrived with broth. Each table had an induction cooktop, so I could keep the broth warm while eating.

I heard that they use Mido Fish Cake from Busan. The fish cakes were chewy and springy, while the broth was lightly spicy and savory. It was nice to eat with the warm broth.

### What comes in the five-skewer yakitori set?

The charcoal-grilled yakitori included chicken wing, chicken skin, chicken and scallion, chicken thigh, and chicken heart. The separately ordered ginkgo skewer came with it as well.

The golden-brown grilled skewers were brushed with tare sauce. They had a lightly sweet flavor, and adding a little of the shichimi powder on the table gave them a spicy note.

The ginkgo skewer was easy to eat one piece at a time, and it did not feel too filling, so it worked as a light snack for a second round.

### How was the mango sherbet to finish?

I wanted something cold while eating, so I added the mango sherbet. Its characteristic mango sweetness and cold texture made my palate feel refreshed.

## How was it for a second round in Hyehwa?

I was satisfied with it for a second round because I could have warm oden broth alongside several kinds of skewers. With counter seats and group seating, I felt there were seating options not only for one or two people but also for larger gatherings. I sat indoors this time because of the heat, but I would like to try the terrace when the weather gets cooler.
