## In short

Seongsu Darak is an omurice and pasta restaurant on the 2nd and 3rd floors of Ace High-End Seongsu Tower, by Exit 3 of Seongsu Station in Seongdong-gu, Seoul. On a daytime visit, a sunlit window seat came with Darak Omurice, Darak Rosé Pasta, Seongsu-ade and Darak-ade, ordered by ringing the bell on the table. With the feel of a hidden attic up a flight of stairs, Seongsu Darak suits a slow brunch or a meal with friends.

Seongsu has so many pretty spaces and good restaurants that it's always hard to choose where to go. This time I picked Seongsu Darak, a place with the special mood of seeking out a slightly hidden attic space, just like its name suggests.

## Up the stairs: the attic rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors

The entrance to Seongsu Darak is structured so that once you open the door and step into the building, a long staircase unfolds ahead of you. Seongsu Darak is made up of the 2nd and 3rd floor spaces.

True to its name — darak meaning attic — the entrance feels a little different from a typical restaurant. Can you see it? 👀

Once you open the door and step inside the building, a long staircase spreads out in front of you. Climbing up the stairs almost feels like you're seeking out a hidden space. 〰️

## What the window seats feel like in the daytime

Inside, the warm wood tones and cozy lighting catch your eye first. Visiting during the day meant sunlight streamed in through the windows, making the space feel even warmer.

If you're looking for a Seongsu-dong spot for brunch or lunch where the atmosphere matters as much as the food, this place will more than satisfy you. ☺️

The table had a menu, cutlery, and a bell all neatly arranged. There were plenty of tables inside, and the window seats looked out onto the alleys of Seongsu, making it a nice spot for a date or a meal with friends. Just note that it's popular, so there can be a wait at lunchtime!

## Seongsu Darak's menu and how to order

Seongsu Darak's menu ranges from its signature omurice, pasta, and risotto to steak, gnocchi, and katsu sando (breaded cutlet sandwich). To order, you ring the bell on the table to call a staff member.

To order, you ring a cute little bell. Haha.

## Darak Omurice: the fun of cutting open the egg

Darak Omurice is the restaurant's signature dish, and the first thing you notice is the soft egg beautifully draped over the top. Cut into the egg with a knife and the soft egg inside spills open.

Just looking at Darak Omurice, with its soft egg piled on top so nicely, you can tell it's Seongsu Darak's signature dish. ➰ From the moment it arrived, the look of it grabbed my attention. 🍛✨

![Cross-section of the egg on Darak Omurice cut open with a knife](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-darak-omurice-rose-pasta-ade/seongsu-darak-omurice-rose-pasta-ade-12-1c6le-900.webp)

Cut into the fluffy egg on top with a knife and the soft egg inside spills open. Watching this happen made me think Darak Omurice is an especially special signature dish, unique to Seongsu Darak. 😆

![A spoonful scooping up sauce and egg together from the omurice](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-darak-omurice-rose-pasta-ade/seongsu-darak-omurice-rose-pasta-ade-14-1o7n2-900.webp)

Scooping up the sauce, egg, and fried rice together with a spoon, the combination worked so well, and it made for a filling meal on its own. 👍🏻

## What does Darak Rosé Pasta taste like?

Darak Rosé Pasta is Seongsu Darak's pasta dish, standing out for its thick, rich cream and sauce. Mix the sauce and cream together and the tomato's tang blends with the cream's softness.

![A plate of Darak Rosé Pasta with rich cream](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-darak-omurice-rose-pasta-ade/seongsu-darak-omurice-rose-pasta-ade-16-1cdsd-900.webp)

Ordered alongside the omurice was Darak Rosé Pasta, which stands out for its thick yet delicious cream and sauce.

Mix the sauce and cream of Darak Rosé Pasta together and the tomato's tang blends with the cream's softness. This resulting rosé sauce is the real kick point. 😉

Twirling it up ➰ and taking a bite, the rosé sauce flavor came through even more strongly, making it even more delicious. 😋

## Seongsu-ade vs Darak-ade: what's the difference?

Also ordered alongside the food were Seongsu-ade and Darak-ade. Seongsu-ade is lemon-flavored and refreshing, while Darak-ade is pineapple-flavored and a bit sweeter.

![Two glasses of Seongsu-ade and Darak-ade](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-darak-omurice-rose-pasta-ade/seongsu-darak-omurice-rose-pasta-ade-20-1jbl1-900.webp)

No Western-style meal is complete without a drink, so I also ordered Seongsu-ade and Darak-ade.

![Lemon Seongsu-ade and pineapple Darak-ade](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-darak-omurice-rose-pasta-ade/seongsu-darak-omurice-rose-pasta-ade-21-1t788-900.webp)

Seongsu-ade was lemon-flavored and refreshing, while Darak-ade was pineapple-flavored, a bit sweeter with that bright, tropical fruit character. They paired especially well with the pasta and omurice. 😉

## Who should visit Seongsu Darak

Seongsu Darak is a nice spot for a casual brunch, and also works well for meeting friends over lunch or dinner. Since it's a restaurant, though, it's difficult to bring pets along.

Seongsu Darak works well for a casual brunch, and just as well for meeting friends over lunch or dinner. As a restaurant, it's difficult to bring pets, but if you're looking for a good Seongsu-dong spot for pasta, risotto, and other Western dishes with a great atmosphere, this is the place to check out. ☺️
