Vinovine is a fully private-room Western dining restaurant near Seocho Station in Seoul, with every table set in its own room. The writer visited for a date with his wife and tried the 7-course dinner from starters to dessert, impressed by a wine list spanning red, white, sparkling and even dessert wines, plus a wine pairing course. This time I visited Vinovine in Seocho-dong for a date with my wife. Unlike a typical open-floor restaurant, Vinovine is a private Western dining restaurant made up entirely of rooms. Once I visited, I could see why it's popular for business meetings and wine gatherings.

That said, it's not a space suited only to business meals. The varied course menu was quite impressive, and I thought it would work well as a date spot in Seocho too. If you're looking for a place to enjoy a meal with wine, I'd recommend it.

## Vinovine location, hours, parking, corkage

There's parking space next to the restaurant entrance and along the same line as the café in the building, so if you're driving, keep this in mind. There's no valet or parking fee.

## From the basement entrance to the room

The restaurant is on the basement level, so heading down felt like stepping into a whole new space. I was greeted by a bottle of Opus One, one of my favorite California wines — nice 👍 A staff member kindly showed me to my reserved room.

## A space made entirely of private rooms

Vinovine is a restaurant made up 100% of private rooms. Some are separated by glass, while others are fully enclosed with no view of the outside at all — it's worth choosing the room type that fits your occasion.

You can also keep leftover wine after corkage, which makes this a great hideout for wine lovers or groups who meet regularly.

Inside the room there's a simple hanger and space to store bags, plus an air purifier. Since you eat in your own separate room, you don't have to worry about other tables' eyes on you, and you can chat comfortably with your group — that's the biggest appeal.

So it made total sense to me why Vinovine is so often used for business meetings or private wine gatherings.

## A wine list that even includes dessert wine

On the table, along with the menu, there was a wine list book. As the restaurant's name suggests, the wine selection was quite diverse. Red, white, sparkling, and even dessert wines were organized by category and by country.

![White wine list page](https://img.superchart.com/images/vinovine-seocho-private-room-course/vinovine-seocho-private-room-course-14-1ao2p-966.webp)

![Sparkling wine list page](https://img.superchart.com/images/vinovine-seocho-private-room-course/vinovine-seocho-private-room-course-15-16lh8-966.webp)

![Dessert wine list page](https://img.superchart.com/images/vinovine-seocho-private-room-course/vinovine-seocho-private-room-course-16-yibxj-966.webp)

Having dessert wine on the list left an impression. Many restaurants stop at red, white and sparkling, since demand for dessert wine is relatively low — but seeing it here made it clear Vinovine really puts effort into its wine program.

### There's a wine pairing course

Personally, what I liked most was that there's a wine pairing course. Ordering wine by the bottle to match a course meal can feel like a commitment, but the pairing course lets you enjoy a variety of wines matched to each dish — a real advantage and appeal.

## The 7-course dinner, in order

I chose the dinner course, made up of 7 courses total, letting me taste a variety of dishes in order from starters to dessert.

![Dinner course starter: chicken liver cocoa choux and abalone tofu tart](https://img.superchart.com/images/vinovine-seocho-private-room-course/vinovine-seocho-private-room-course-19-d8hiq-966.webp)

### Starter — chicken liver cocoa choux & abalone tofu

The starter consisted of bite-sized dishes like an amuse-bouche: chicken liver, cocoa choux, and abalone tofu. It's a cocoa choux filled with chicken liver pâté and apricot jam, and a tart flavored with abalone, offal sauce, tofu, and mascarpone cheese. A great, appetite-sharpening start.

![Smoked watermelon and tomato water appetizer](https://img.superchart.com/images/vinovine-seocho-private-room-course/vinovine-seocho-private-room-course-20-132mw-966.webp)

![Low-temperature shrimp confit with bisque sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/vinovine-seocho-private-room-course/vinovine-seocho-private-room-course-21-dfbom-966.webp)

![House-baked sourdough with Maldon salt butter](https://img.superchart.com/images/vinovine-seocho-private-room-course/vinovine-seocho-private-room-course-22-udaw1-966.webp)

### Appetizers — smoked watermelon, shrimp confit, house-baked sourdough

The first appetizer was smoked, fragrant watermelon with tomato water, herb oil, cheese, prosciutto chips, and pistachio powder. The second was low-temperature-cooked shrimp confit with a rich bisque sauce, topped uniquely with sliced banana and fried Brussels sprouts. The third was house-baked sourdough with Maldon salt butter — the banana-topped shrimp confit was a striking dish.

### First main — Jeju white jade tilefish shakushaku

The first main dish was Jeju white jade tilefish with its skin cooked crisp (shakushaku), garnished with clams and bonito-flavored tomato, grilled asparagus, and grilled basil, finished with a vermouth-based sauce. The tomato garnish was the standout in this fish dish.

### Pasta — cacio e pepe with white ragù

Before the second main, a pasta course arrived — something new outside the usual meal lineup. It's cacio e pepe made with Pecorino cheese, topped with white ragù. Personally one of the most fun dishes of the course — the aroma and richness of the Pecorino, plus the white ragù topping, made for a nutty yet hearty flavor.

### Second main — Korean beef strip loin steak

The second main was Korean beef (hanwoo) strip loin steak, served with a gravy sauce, mini onions, potato crumble, and a black garlic purée sauce. Between the doneness, texture, and garnishes, it was a really enjoyable dish full of different flavors.

### Dessert — warabi mochi and hojicha ice cream

Dessert was warabi mochi made with bracken starch, and hojicha ice cream topped with brown sugar and a nut crumble, all served together on a monaka wafer for a satisfying finish. What stood out was that warm dishes came on warm plates and cold dishes like dessert came on chilled plates, keeping the temperature right until the very end — it made the meal feel truly cared for.

## How to pair the course with wine

What struck me most about Vinovine's dinner course was how varied the whole lineup felt. It seemed like a menu deliberately designed to pair well with white, red, sparkling, and even dessert wines.

- Chicken liver and cocoa choux pair with sparkling wine
- Fish dishes pair with white wine
- Pasta and steak dishes pair with red wine

Pairing a different wine with each dish would make for an even more enjoyable meal. If you're near Seocho Station looking for a private-room dining experience with wine and a course meal, I'd recommend Vinovine — and that wraps up this post.
