It's a Seongsu café where you can taste mango bingsu just like the one I had in Taiwan. And on top of that, you can even get Filipino-style ube bingsu! Childish, 2nd floor, 114 Yeonmujang-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul It's about a 5-minute walk from Seongsu Station Exit 3, so it's closer than it seems. And here's another plus — Seongsu has been so crowded with Chinese tourists lately that it's gotten a bit noisy and overwhelming, but there wasn't a single Chinese tourist here haha. Only Koreans!!!! The café's vibe is really nice too, and the staff were friendly. You head up to the 2nd floor, and that's where Childish is. The café was pretty, done in a fresh, bright mint-green color! ### Childish opening hours and closed days Open Tuesday through Sunday, 11:00 to 21:00. They stay open pretty late, and Monday is their regular closed day, so keep that in mind before visiting! And there are little taiyaki-shaped lamps hanging here and there haha, so cute! The floor-to-ceiling windows also let you look down over the Seongsu street, which I loved. Great for coming with friends, and also good as a date spot. Here's the Childish menu. They sell everything from signature drinks to bingsu to salted bread! Apparently the bingsu is made by freezing 100% milk with no condensed milk added. There's a cheese bacon potato sweet potato pizza salted taiyaki, plus a mammoth chewy salted taiyaki, so you get to experience a variety of flavors. These salted taiyaki are baked fresh right after you order, so you get to eat them warm, which was great!!!!!!! I love both salted bread and taiyaki, so having something that combines both makes any dessert lover happy. This one was actually featured as a salted taiyaki on a Korean TV info show. Something unique here is that they also have mini salted bread haha. Even though it's mini, it's packed full inside! You can order a minimum of 3 at a time, and each one is ₩900. So cute, right? The regular salted bread is also cheap — only ₩2,500 each. ## Taiwanese giant mango bingsu and Playing with Fire cream coffee The star of the show, the Taiwanese mango bingsu, finally arrived, and it was so sweet that it was surprising there was no condensed milk in it haha. It's soft milk ice, so it really melts in your mouth with nothing to chew. The mango was also fresh and high in sugar content, so it was delicious!!!! A whole mango came sliced up right on top...! I was curious how the Playing with Fire cream coffee would turn out, and it arrived with cream piled on top of marshmallow, decorated on the outside like dirty coffee art. Total sugar-charge kind of taste..! The salted bread itself is made gluten-free with rice flour plus 100% unsalted dairy butter, so it's chewy and doesn't feel too heavy! People on a diet can feel a little less guilty haha. The mini salted bread is so cute haha. In the hot summer, I'd recommend trying the Taiwanese mango bingsu made with whole big mango pieces!!!! Inside there's hearty, soft potato and bacon, and on top there's cheese, sweet potato mousse, and pepperoni piled on generously, so it really looked like pizza haha. Pizza + salted bread + taiyaki? There's no way this could taste bad. It was more filling than expected, and the sweet-and-salty combination was very well balanced and satisfying.
