## In short

T Coffee is a quiet basement café in Seongsu, Seoul, 488 meters from Exit 2 of Seongsu Station. Cutting back on caffeine, the writer ordered the lemon shiso mugwort tea, which arrives brewed in an insulated teapot so it stays hot to the last cup, and the chocolate sand cookie picked on a whim turned out to be the surprise of the visit. Even underground, natural light and a green bamboo view keep T Coffee from feeling closed in — an easy choice for a quiet weekend date.

## What is T Coffee, the quiet café near Seongsu Station?

If you're looking for a quiet café near Seongsu Station, I'd like to recommend this one. It's underground, but you can still feel a green view that keeps it from feeling stuffy — and the chocolate sand cookie was so good!

UMM SOUND Seongsu T Coffee

I'd already had a lot of coffee before coming, so I tried a tea instead — it was brewed and served in a warming kettle, so I could keep drinking it hot the whole time, which I loved. I didn't expect much from the desserts since there weren't many options, but it was so good. I noticed reviews praising the warm, soft, moist scone too, so I'll have to try that next time.

## How to get there: 488 meters from Seongsu Station Exit 2

![The walk from Seongsu Station Exit 2 to T Coffee](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea-03-o0hxm-900.webp)

Seongsu T Coffee is located 488 meters from Exit 2 of Seongsu Station. The weather was so nice it felt a little a shame to head underground, but...

![The basement level entrance of T Coffee shared with a pizza place](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea-04-o0vnb-900.webp)

The entrance and finishing reminded me of the corn pizza place in Hannam-dong. T Coffee and a pizza place share the same basement floor. The restroom seems to be shared with the pizza place — a little embarrassing, but it was clean, so it was fine.

## Is there parking at T Coffee?

![Street view of the Seongsu commercial district with no parking support](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea-05-ceqjc-900.webp)

There's no parking support, typical of the Seongsu commercial district, so I took public transit. There was a pop-up nearby I enjoyed checking out before heading this way.

## Inside T Coffee: a basement that still gets daylight

Even though the café is underground, natural light comes in, so it doesn't feel stuffy at all.

![Minimal tables and chairs at the quiet café seating](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea-07-7g539-900.webp)

The tables and chairs have a minimal feel that adds to the sense of openness, and the atmosphere is quiet — some people were there working on laptops.

![The centrally placed kitchen layout at T Coffee](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea-08-180d3-900.webp)

Unusually, the kitchen is right in the center of the space, which really draws the eye — that confidence was cool. The glasses and mugs are kept spotless too.

There are three types of bean grinders — nutty, acidic, and decaf, I believe.

## T Coffee menu: non-coffee drinks and hand-drip coffee

At quiet Seongsu café T Coffee, non-coffee options include matcha latte, lemon ginger sparkling, lemon shiso mugwort tea, oolong tea, chocolate, and milk for kids — it's a Yes Kids Zone. There's also cold brew, latte, cappuccino, and mint latte. Since I visited late in the afternoon and was cutting back on caffeine, I ordered the lemon shiso mugwort tea, but next time I want to try the almond latte. Everything except mint latte and cold brew is available hot or iced.

![Information card for the Ethiopia Guji Gogugu Natural hand drip](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea-12-1hg3b-966.webp)

There's hand-drip coffee too — Ethiopia Guji Gogugu Natural, priced at ₩8,0 per cup (not a big price gap from the regular menu), so I was curious about that too. The cupping notes — grape, tropical fruit, stone fruit, chocolate — and origin are listed in detail.

## Dessert at T Coffee: the chocolate sand cookie steals the show

![Dessert display with only model examples, no case](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea-13-xqw1d-900.webp)

![Dessert models at the T Coffee counter](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea-14-wvq8n-900.webp)

There's no dessert display case, just a single model of each one set out, so honestly I didn't expect much from the desserts. We ordered one chocolate sand cookie and shared it with my boyfriend, and wow, it was so good! Looking through Place reviews later, I saw praise for the scone too, so next time I want to try that moist, warm scone.

![Water and mugs set out next to the counter](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea-15-1ulej-900.webp)

To the right of the counter, there's water and large mugs set out for anyone who's thirsty — a nice touch.

![Cold brew and chocolate sand cookie being served](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea-16-16jz2-900.webp)

The cold brew and chocolate sand cookie came out first. A staff member brought them right to our table. The glass holding the cold brew was unusually thin, which my boyfriend found a bit awkward to hold.

## Lemon shiso mugwort tea served in an insulated teapot

![Warm tea served in a warming kettle](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea-17-16ot3-900.webp)

I ordered hot tea, and they brewed it and served it in a kettle to keep it warm, so I could keep drinking it hot the whole time.

![A seat with warm tea and bamboo in view](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea/seongsu-quiet-cafe-teapot-tea-18-1os25-900.webp)

Once tea cools, it just tastes like water, but staying warm meant I could keep enjoying it — I really appreciated that. The atmosphere was great too, and there was a lot of bamboo behind where we sat, giving it a nice green feel.

Quiet Seongsu café T Coffee, visited for a weekend date. Even though it was my first visit, I'm only leaving with good memories.
