If you're looking for a good place to eat near the Korean Folk Village, I want to recommend Guigo! It's a grilled fish spot, but the side dishes are varied too, making it a great family meal place near the folk village. Parking was easy, and it worked well as a lunch spot.

## Where Guigo is, opening hours and parking

Guigo is located at 761 Jungbu-daero, Building 2, 1st floor, Giheung-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, and is open from 11:00 to 21:00. There's a break time on weekdays from 15:00 to 17:00, it's closed on Tuesdays, and parking is available in front of the building.

To get to Guigo, you have to pass by a car wash! If you see the self-service car wash entrance, just head up toward Guigo haha. The parking lot is big with plenty of spots, so it was convenient to come by car.

Guigo is closed every Tuesday! There's also a break time on weekdays, so check before you visit.

## What time to arrive for a weekday lunch seat at Guigo

I visited around 11:30 on a weekday, and by noon the place was almost fully booked! If you're going for lunch, I'd recommend arriving a bit early. It's close to Yongin City Hall too, so it seems like a lot of office workers come here.

There's a self-serve bar and you can even get iced coffee for dessert — I liked that about this Yongin restaurant. Eating grilled fish with hot pot rice again after a while felt like a proper Korean set meal.

## What comes with the 2-person grilled fish assortment and hot pot rice

I ordered the 2-person grilled fish assortment with hot pot rice, and it came with four kinds of fish plus freshly cooked hot pot rice, so I ate really well. The four fish were mackerel, rockfish, flounder, and hairtail! You can order à la carte too, but I fully recommend the assorted grilled fish haha.

They bring out the basic side dishes for you, and if you want more, you can use the self-serve bar. There was japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), seaweed stem salad, and cabbage salad at the self-serve bar, so I went back for seconds!

They also bring out miyeokguk (seaweed soup) as a default, and even that soup is delicious,,,, A great restaurant near the Korean Folk Village for treating someone to a meal. Recommended for family gatherings.

## Is Guigo comfortable with a baby?

Guigo has baby chairs and kids' tableware ready, so it was fine to visit with a baby. It was also a good spot for family dining out in Yongin! Babies eat fish well too, so giving them just fish and rice was enough for them to finish their plate haha.

The self-serve bar was clean and hygienically managed too. There are a lot of restaurants these days with grilled fish and self-serve bars, but the side dishes here were satisfying overall.

## How the fire-grilled fish tasted

The fire-grilled fish came out quickly and was cooked crispy outside, tender inside — the fish was so tasty. The hairtail especially had a generous portion and was soft, so I really enjoyed it!! It was my first time having rockfish as grilled fish, and the flesh was firm and springy, which made it even better.

Ordering the assorted grilled fish gives you a generous portion, and you get to enjoy four different kinds, so it's satisfying. It's the kind of menu older family members would like too~

Eating this whole spread was really filling. You could easily go through two bowls of rice with the grilled fish haha. If you're visiting the Korean Folk Village and looking for a place to eat, this is perfect for a family meal.

The hot pot rice also came out neatly, so I scooped out the rice and made sungnyung (scorched rice tea) with the leftover crust! Putting a piece of grilled fish on top of the hot rice was seriously so good..!!

The fish was cooked so well that I didn't even need scissors to remove the bones — I just picked it apart with chopsticks. Flounder is always good, and the mackerel was nice and big too! Grilled fish can often feel like a hassle to make at home, so I'm glad a place like this exists in Yongin.

## Does Guigo work for group meals and gatherings?

Guigo has a lot of group seating, so it works fine as a meeting spot too. Even on a weekday, groups of office workers were coming in, and the fish was plump and cooked soft and well, which I liked!

There was so much fish that I finished with the sungnyung-and-fish combo haha. A perfect lunch! I went craving grilled fish after a while, and the staff were really kind, the meal was generous, and I was satisfied. I'm planning to go again soon!!
