## A Seongsu Korean beef course from hanwoo to butter-grilled abalone and LA galbi

The staff grill everything for you, so you can eat comfortably, and the course runs from hanwoo to butter-grilled abalone and LA galbi. There is even a table presentation where they light a candle on the salad, plus a spacious dining hall and various private rooms, so it seemed like a good pick for Seongsu work dinners, family meetings, and group gatherings. Even the side dishes in the course were delicious!

## Marblejeong near Ttukseom Station: exterior and atmosphere

### The exterior

I was looking for somewhere to have hanwoo in Seongsu and headed to Marblejeong (마블정), near Ttukseom Station!

![Visiting Marblejeong near Ttukseom Station](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong-03-elyn9-966.webp)

It is close to both Ttukseom and Seongsu stations, so the location is handy when making plans around Seongsu~ There is also a separate private parking lot, which made driving over easy!

![Marblejeong's second-floor entrance and restaurant scale](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong-04-7y0p5-966.webp)

It is on the second floor, and once I went up, the restaurant was bigger than I expected—I could tell even before going in that it would get plenty of group gatherings! Celebrity autographs were displayed near the entrance, too.

First, the aging hanwoo welcomes you right at the entrance. The meat looked great at a glance, so I was already excited before going in ✨ Inside, the large windows opened onto a spacious dining hall, and the tables were not cramped together!

There are separate private rooms as well, so it looked well suited to important occasions such as Seongsu work dinners and family gatherings. Since the staff grill the meat themselves, it also seemed like a comfortable place for a work dinner where everyone can chat while eating! Even mouthwash and floss were prepared in the restroom—such thoughtful attention to detail!

## Ordering Hanwoo Special Course B

![Marblejeong hanwoo and course menu](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong-05-rsfyx-966.webp)

They had a wide selection, from hanwoo and Korean pork to course menus, but that day we ordered Hanwoo Special Course B for two at ₩79,000 and a Cass at ₩7,000!

![Hanwoo Special Course B order](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong-06-37cdt-966.webp)

It was not a meal that ended with hanwoo alone—the abalone, LA galbi, and meal dishes followed, so we could really enjoy a complete hanwoo course~ They grilled each item and served it according to our pace, making the whole meal comfortable from beginning to end!

## From starters to candlelit salad

Before the hanwoo arrived in earnest, the starters came out one by one!

![Hanwoo course starters](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong-07-ajwyo-966.webp)

We started with warm abalone porridge. It had a gentle abalone aroma and went down smoothly, which was perfect for settling an empty stomach~

![Warm abalone porridge starter](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong-08-arzfx-966.webp)

Next came yukhoe (seasoned raw beef), seasoned pollock, and yukjeon (pan-fried beef slices); the starter lineup was more substantial than I expected!

![Yukhoe and seasoned pollock starters](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong-09-1oeor-966.webp)

The yukhoe was nutty and tender without overpowering seasoning, while the yukjeon was soft, warm, and tasty. The seasoned pollock added a sweet-and-tangy note that paired nicely with the yukjeon. With so many different starters, it really felt like we were having a proper course meal!

Then the side-dish salad plating caught my eye—they even lit a candle on it, haha.

![Salad plating with a lit candle](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong-13-whlpc-966.webp)

It was my first time seeing a presentation like this at a barbecue restaurant, so the person I went with immediately started taking photos! The side dishes were not just token accompaniments either; each one was nice to eat on its own~

## Staff-grilled 1++ hanwoo and butter-grilled abalone

The 1++ hanwoo grill, finally the main event!! Sirloin, beef brisket, garnishes, and abalone all arrived together, making the meat portion of the course feel very complete!

![Hanwoo grill with sirloin and beef brisket](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong-14-1y4up-966.webp)

The best part was that the staff grilled the hanwoo themselves! They neatly placed the perfectly cooked meat on a tray over the grill, so all we had to do was eat.

![Staff-grilled hanwoo placed on a tray](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong-16-44p1v-966.webp)

They also grilled the accompanying garnishes well and put them separately on a plate! Those button mushrooms were especially delicious 🥹 They were juicy and soft, making each bite easy to enjoy~ A soy sauce is served separately too, and dipping into it was an umami explosion‼️

The order was salt / wasabi / seasoned chamnamul greens / myeongi namul (pickled wild garlic leaves) / basil / beef brisket. Everything was tasty on its own, but with the side dishes and sauces, every combination was seriously delicious 👍🏻

![Hanwoo paired with side dishes](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong-17-ju5hf-966.webp)

The butter-grilled abalone was cooked last, after all the meat, and the abalone pieces were huge. They had soaked up the buttery flavor well and were chewy without being tough!

![Large butter-grilled abalone](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong-18-m925h-966.webp)

Eating it between bites of hanwoo refreshed the palate, and I liked that the course never felt monotonous~ Having seafood as well as meat made it even more satisfying!

## Doenjang jjigae, fried shrimp, LA galbi, and naengmyeon

![Hanwoo course meal dishes](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong-19-7m6cz-966.webp)

The course includes meal dishes too, and doenjang jjigae (soybean-paste stew) came first! Rice is not included, so you need to order it separately. It arrived while we were eating the meat, and its rich, slightly spicy flavor was good with the meat and especially nice when the fat started to feel a little heavy.

![Rich doenjang jjigae](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong-20-1mdpj-966.webp)

Two pieces of fried shrimp came with it too, and these were not cheap, skimpy shrimp—they were plump, with such a good bite. Even the sides were delicious, so I could see why people seek this place out as a Seongsu favorite!

![Two plump pieces of fried shrimp](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong-21-1erlw-966.webp)

LA galbi and naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) followed, separately grilled and served together. They were so good to eat with the naengmyeon as the finishing course!

![LA galbi and naengmyeon meal course](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong/seongsu-hanwoo-special-course-marblejeong-22-cteqe-966.webp)

The sweetish marinade had soaked into the meat well, and the flesh was tender, so I enjoyed every bit around the bone too~ It is on the sweet side. First of all, the naengmyeon was incredibly good. Is this secretly a naengmyeon restaurant?

## Finishing with fruit, yakgwa, and sujeonggwa

After the meal, dessert was prepared separately, and it was so pretty too 😭 Fruit such as melon and cherries came with yakgwa (honey cookies) and sujeonggwa (cinnamon punch), which was perfect for freshening up a mouth that could feel rich after all that meat~ The course felt uninterrupted right through the end, and I left truly full and happy for the price!

They were also running a Naver review event, and apparently you can receive Häagen-Dazs if you leave a review, so give it a try!

## Overall thoughts and one small downside

I was really satisfied with the course because I could enjoy butter-grilled abalone, LA galbi, and meal dishes all at once along with hanwoo! Above all, it was convenient that the staff grilled everything, and with its spacious hall and private rooms, I think it would also be a great place for Seongsu work dinners or family gatherings~

> Would I visit again? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The one downside was that the naengmyeon took quite a while to come out in the middle of the mealㅠ

A Seongsu hanwoo course with a well-planned lineup from the sides onward, and a good spot for work dinners or important gatherings!
