I started running again after taking the winter off. Once I went beyond 5 km, the front of my knees would ache, and my old brace kept slipping down while I ran, so I had to stop and pull it back up over and over. It did not seem to stretch out easily or leave a sticky feeling, and it did not pull when I moved with it on my skin. One strip I applied to my ankle first did not lift at the ends all day. After taping around my knee, I bent it and felt supported. Powerhold has a 3D silicone pad structure that wraps around the kneecap. With the brace over the tape, it felt as though the tape and brace were supporting the area around my knee together. I felt more stable wearing them together than using each one separately. In my case, my knee did not feel like it was shifting side to side, and the aching felt less noticeable when running or walking down stairs. At first, I thought bringing both the tape and brace would be a hassle. Once I got used to it, though, getting ready before exercise took less than five minutes.
