Wanting to try gyukatsu before a trip to Osaka, I booked 11am through Naver Reservation and ordered Set 1 — gyukatsu, the steki set meal and two drinks — with the drinks swapped for Kirin Ichiban beer. I've been planning a trip to Osaka lately and thought, let's properly try Japanese-style gyukatsu before we go!! — so I looked it up and ended up here. This place is famous as a Japanese-style gyukatsu specialist, and I got even more curious when I heard Lee Youngji, who I really like, shouted it out. Since we were visiting as a couple and wanted to try a bit of everything, we ordered Set 1! ## What comes in Set 1, and swapping the drinks for Kirin Ichiban beer What we ordered was Furato Shokudo's Set 1. It comes with gyukatsu, the steki set, and two drinks. And drinking beer in the morning put me in a really good mood! Both dishes come with a personal grill, so you cook the meat yourself to your liking. The outside was savory and the inside was tender, and it went really well with the sauce 😋 And here's my tip!! I recommend adding butter. Grilling the meat with butter on top makes it feel a bit more tender, plus you get the extra savory flavor of the butter — delicious!! The steki was also grilled ourselves on the personal grill, and it was genuinely delicious too 🤤 It had a totally different feel from the gyukatsu, so I was glad we ordered both to try together!! The meat was so tender, the juices were insane... juice just flowing out.. ## Is Set 1 worth it for two people at Furato Shokudo? Also, something I learned while looking up Furato Shokudo — apparently Cortis used to visit here every weekend back in their trainee days!! Celebrity favorite aside, visiting every weekend means it has to be genuinely good!! And after visiting myself, I could see why so many people come here!! The meat was so tender, and so full of juice.. We visited because we were curious about the gyukatsu we'd be eating in Japan while planning our Osaka trip, and it turned out to be way more fun than expected 🥰 I liked being able to try both gyukatsu and the steki set, and the personal-grill style made it good for a date too!!
