The flat base felt heavier than I expected. There are three rotating joints. The center joint adjusts 360°, while the upper and lower joints each adjust 180°. I could stand it vertically from the desk or lay it horizontally. It folds flat, just as it was when I first took it out of the box. Looking at its folded size, I thought it would be fine to carry around or take on a trip.
