This time I took a trip to Haenggung-dong after a while. The autumn weather is amazing!! I was debating what to eat, but went with the suggestion to have wood-fired pizza, which led me here...

The European Haenggung Main Branch is an Italian restaurant in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, famous for its wood-fired pizza and pasta. It's open daily 11:30–21:30, with last order at 21:00.

True to its European name, The European Haenggung is a European restaurant, and specifically an Italian one. That's why it's known for wood-fired pizza and pasta.

## Parking near The European Haenggung: Hwaseong Haenggung public parking rates

There's no parking lot at the building itself, so you'll need to use a nearby public parking lot. There's no parking support even if you dine there.

This is the closest parking lot to The European Haenggung-dong! It's fairly spacious and located right in front. I had a meal, went to a café, then took a walk—about 2 hours and 30 minutes passed and parking came out to around ₩5,700.

## How to book a table at The European Haenggung

The European Haenggung takes reservations, which you can make through Naver or Catch Table. Booking ahead means no waiting, so I recommend it!!

First of all, The European Haenggung is a yes-kids-zone! You can visit with a child.

There are quite a lot of tables inside. There's also a room in the middle, so it seems suited for group gatherings too.

There are a few steps at the entrance, which made it a bit inconvenient to bring a stroller up. But since we had a stroller, they guided us to a wide table where we could keep it. Really kind service!!

Since they sell wood-fired pizza, there's this big wood-fired oven sitting right there.

The menu ranges from pizza to pasta to gnocchi. The variety of pizzas especially is huge!!

On weekdays, adding ₩4,000 per person gets you a homemade baguette + mushroom soup + a drink.

The soup was mushroom soup, with a bit of mushroom texture and a really rich flavor.

If you choose an americano, there's no extra charge, but choosing soda or other drinks might cost extra. Since an americano usually costs ₩4,000 on its own, it basically means getting the americano + bread + soup for the price of one americano!

The food came out faster than expected. Time to taste everything one by one~~

### Signature arugula jamon burrata pizza: 31,000 won

There were so many delicious-looking pizzas that it was hard to choose..! Just as the name says, it's a tomato sauce base topped with jamón + arugula + burrata cheese.

The arugula was very fresh with a great aroma, and you could taste the saltiness of the jamón and the richness of the cheese. And true to wood-fired pizza, the crust was really chewy.

The ragu seemed to be homemade, so the flavor came through gently and mildly rather than harshly.

And being definitely fresh pasta, the noodles had a springy, elastic bite. The chewiness was great too.

## Is The European Haenggung worth it? Final verdict

The prices are on the higher side, but the quality matches it. And it felt even better knowing that most of the sauces and noodles seemed to be made in-house rather than pre-made. The atmosphere is also great for a date, and since it's a yes-kids-zone, it's wonderful to visit with a child too! I'll definitely go again~~
