## In short

Ola Poke Gangnam is a poke restaurant about five minutes' walk from Exit 4 of Gangnam Station in Seoul. The Steak Poke at 14,500 won came with a half salad, half oat brown rice base and a 1,000 won boiled egg topping, for 15,500 won in total, and the bowl held generous toppings and tender steak that never got boring to the last bite. Looking for somewhere to eat alone near Gangnam Station on a weekday evening, I got a craving for poke and headed to Ola Poke Gangnam! While searching for the best poke near Gangnam Station, I kept seeing reviews saying this place is especially generous with its portions, so I got curious.

With poke, if you pick wrong you can end up with mostly veggies and not much substance, but the photos of Ola Poke's bowls already looked packed full, so I went in with some expectations :)

## How to find Ola Poke Gangnam from Gangnam Station Exit 4

Ola Poke Gangnam is about 5 minutes from Exit 4 of Gangnam Station. The address is B1, Unit 104 Bisangga, 46 Teheran-ro 4-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea.

Weekday hours run from 10:30 to 20:30, with a break time from 15:00 to 17:00, and last order at 20:10. It's closed on Saturdays and Sundays, so if you're planning a weekend visit, better check ahead. I went on a weekday evening.

## Bright, roomy seats made for solo diners at Ola Poke Gangnam

The first thing I noticed walking in was how much bigger and brighter it was than I expected!

![Spacious, bright interior of Ola Poke](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal-04-1myw6-900.webp)

White walls with orange accent touches gave the space a fresh, clean vibe.

![Store atmosphere with white walls and orange accents](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal-05-1yydn-900.webp)

But what I liked most as a solo diner was the seating. There's a long row of single-person seats along the wall, so sitting alone didn't feel awkward at all.

![Seating area with single seats and tables](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal-06-18yly-900.webp)

There are also 2-person and 4-person tables, spaced out enough that the place never felt cramped. This kind of seating layout actually matters a lot when you're looking for a solo dining spot near Gangnam Station. Not having to worry about seating while eating alone was a pretty nice touch.

## Choosing a poke base at the kiosk: salad, oat brown rice or buckwheat noodles

![Kiosk ordering area toward the back of the store](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal-07-p7z9w-900.webp)

You order at the kiosk toward the back of the store.

First time at a poke place, choosing base, sauce, and toppings can feel a bit confusing, but there was a detailed order guide right next to the kiosk, so it wasn't as tricky as I expected. You pick your menu first, then choose a base from salad, oat brown rice, or buckwheat noodles — I went half salad, half oat brown rice.

![Half salad, half oat brown rice base](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal-09-v13kb-900.webp)

Salad alone felt like it'd be a bit light for dinner, and brown rice alone would take away that light poke feeling, so the half-and-half combo was just right for me personally.

## What's in the 15,500 won steak poke bowl

I ordered the Steak Poke for ₩14,500! Added a boiled egg for another ₩1,000, so ₩15,500 total.

![Steak poke with a boiled egg added](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal-10-1d0zg-1200.webp)

The second I got the food, my very first thought was wow, this is a lot... The bowl was practically packed to the brim with ingredients, and I immediately understood why so many reviews mentioned the generous portions.

![Steak poke loaded with a variety of ingredients](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal-11-x6kep-900.webp)

It's not just steak plopped on top — there's red onion, corn, pickled beets, pineapple, seaweed, lentils, chickpeas, vegetables, and crispy onion, all packed in. Add the boiled egg on top and it looked seriously filling just from appearance alone :)

### Seaweed, pineapple and toppings that change texture with every bite

I loved how the texture kept changing with every bite. Poke is a dish where you eat several ingredients together in one bowl, so I think the ingredient mix matters a lot. Ola Poke's texture shifted with each bite in a good way.

The corn had a nice pop, while the lentils and chickpeas added more of a filling feel.

The red onion and pickles refreshed my palate now and then.

I especially loved the seaweed. That chewy texture and umami flavor...!!

![Poke topped with seaweed and pineapple](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal-17-vcoo6-900.webp)

And surprisingly, the pineapple was a hit too! I know pineapple in poke can be a love-it-or-hate-it thing, but I was totally into it. Its sweet, tangy bursts kind of reset my palate between bites of steak. Between the seaweed and pineapple, I think that's why I never got tired of it till the last bite.

## Was the steak tender? The main protein at Ola Poke Gangnam

And now, the most important part — the main steak! I figured meat in poke might be a bit dry or tough, but here it wasn't chewy at all, totally tender. It's cut into bite-sized pieces, easy to pick up with a fork, and paired well with both the salad and brown rice.

![Bite-sized steak topping](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal-18-x1j6v-900.webp)

The amount of steak was more generous than I expected too, so it didn't feel like just a few bites of meat on top of a poke — it felt like a proper full meal.

## Sesame soy sauce and wasabi mayo: how does the combo taste?

For sauce, I went with the recommended default combo of sesame soy sauce plus wasabi mayo. The sesame soy sauce comes drizzled right on the poke, and the wasabi mayo comes in a small separate dish.

![Sesame soy sauce and wasabi mayo sauces](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal-19-1punh-900.webp)

So I started off eating with the sesame soy flavor, then dipped a piece of steak lightly into the wasabi mayo. This is good haha! The nutty mayo flavor hits first, then a slight wasabi kick follows, and it went really well with the steak. The wasabi wasn't too strong either, so it was easy to enjoy without any pressure.

## Self-serve sauces, lemon water and rooibos tea

Another thing I liked here!! Besides the default sauces, there's a self-serve bar with yuzu soy sauce and sesame soy sauce ready to go.

![Self-serve bar with yuzu soy sauce and sesame soy sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal-20-123zc-900.webp)

If the flavor felt a bit light or I wanted to switch things up, I could just grab whatever suited my taste and add it in. Having sauce options meant I felt a bit less bored eating the bowl all the way through.

And honestly, this part touched me a little haha

![Self-serve bar with lemon water and rooibos tea](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal-21-cx0dn-900.webp)

The self-serve bar had cold lemon water and warm rooibos tea both available. Usually places like this just have plain water, so having warm tea too felt like a thoughtful touch.

![Warm rooibos tea enjoyed after the meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal-22-c2dy8-900.webp)

After a cold poke, finishing off with a warm cup of rooibos tea rounded off the meal nicely :)

## Why Ola Poke Gangnam works for solo dining near Gangnam Station

Going alone this time, I felt Ola Poke Gangnam is actually a pretty good solo dining spot near Gangnam Station.

![Single-person seating comfortable for solo dining at Ola Poke](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal-23-e2mtq-900.webp)

The single-person seating is well set up, kiosk ordering makes it easy to walk in and order alone, and the space itself is spacious enough that sitting alone didn't feel awkward. Staff were friendly too, so overall it was a comfortable meal.

## Final verdict on the steak poke at Ola Poke Gangnam

The steak poke I had this time was genuinely generous in portion, and with such a variety of ingredients I never got bored through the whole bowl. The steak being tender instead of chewy was a highlight, and the seaweed's chewy texture plus the pineapple's tangy sweetness worked way better together than I expected. Going half salad, half oat brown rice kept that light poke feel while the rice and steak still delivered real fullness. The Steak Poke was ₩14,500, and with the boiled egg added it came to ₩15,500 — considering the portion and ingredient mix, I personally found it satisfying.

![A hearty steak poke meal fully enjoyed](https://img.superchart.com/images/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal/gangnam-steak-poke-soft-meal-24-l4gxq-900.webp)

If you want a hearty poke near Gangnam Station, especially somewhere comfortable to eat solo, Ola Poke Gangnam is worth a visit :) Next time I go, I want to try poke with a different main protein. Would definitely go back!
