Coming to Hyeonseoni-ne, you have to start with the tteokbokki. It's chewy wheat rice cakes in a red sauce, with the broth on the thicker side, which made it great for dipping fried snacks or gimbap. The subtle sesame oil aroma coming off it was nice, and since the tteokbokki was spicy, eating a piece of gimbap in between felt like a palate reset. It's especially good for office workers looking for a spot near Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station — easy for a quick lunch, and just as good after work. It's also worth putting on your list if you're near Cheonggyecheon and craving tteokbokki or bunsik. Above all, ordering just one Hyeonseoni Combo lets you get tteokbokki, sundae, fried snacks, gimbap, and fish cake all at once — so it's a great recommendation when you want tteokbokki but also several sides.
