## What kind of bar is Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch?

Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch is a new-ish Korean bar on the 2nd floor above Thursday Party's 2nd location in Seomyeon, Busan. We'd already done first-round chicken and beer and were looking for a second-round bar when we got a craving for makgeolli (Korean rice wine), so we came here. It's a place with all kinds of Korean dishes on the menu!!

True to its status as a Seomyeon hotspot, the place was packed even on a weekday evening! There was also a review-writing event. If you're coming with a group, I'd recommend booking through Naver Reservations. If you make a reservation and leave a review as a visitor, you also get a free fruit ice cream! Connecting to wifi was easy too, just scan the QR code.

Main dishes at Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch run in the ₩20,000s–₩30,000s, and side dishes range from under ₩10,000 up to the ₩10,000s! The mains had playful names like O-Dae-Bal, yukhoe shrimp jang-kal bibim, Yuumangju's gathered chicken, kimchi hot pot with hot stone, rich beef tendon octopus jeongol, boiled pork with scorched-rice chicken gomtang, and spicy soft tofu beef brisket seafood stew — so many fun names!

Since my friends don't eat pork, we settled on the beef brisket seafood stew >_< The other side dishes looked delicious just from their names too. They've got pasta, udon, bingsu (shaved ice), rice balls — plenty of drinking snacks that also work as a meal.

## Restrooms and the second-floor smoking room

Bathrooms at Seomyeon bars are usually pretty grim!!! But the staff at Yuumangju check on it constantly, so it stays clean haha. I came with my Turkish friends, and they're all smokers. Yuumangju is on the 2nd floor but still has a smoking room, so my friends didn't have to go all the way outside!!!!

## Beef brisket seafood stew, 29,900 won

Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch's beef brisket seafood stew is ₩29,900. My friends said they wanted something spicy, so we ordered it, and all four of us were happy with it! Tender beef brisket, soft tofu, and all kinds of seafood ~~~ it felt a bit like eating hangover soup while drinking. Rich and spicy, so good >_<

## Saengtak makgeolli with friends drinking it for the first time

They said they'd never had makgeolli before! So we shared Saengtak together hehe. We ordered the regular makgeolli so we could try a makgeolli+soju combo and a makgeolli+cider combo! The handmade makgeolli on the menu was ₩15,000 and the regular one was ₩6,000 >,< The handmade options were honey mango, tomato, and strawberry ~~

Cheers with makgeolli ~ My friends said the makgeolli + cider combo was way better than the makgeolli + soju combo hehe.

The seafood stew was loaded with clams and blue crab too, and the crab was plump with lots of soft meat.

A hangover-relief jelly that a Good Day soju staff member brought over for us!!! Haha, normally you get it when you order one more bottle, but we'd already ordered Good Day so they just gave it to us anyway >_<

They said makgeolli+cider beats somaek (soju+beer) haha, so we ordered another round and drank it with cider >,< Apparently Saengtak in particular is a makgeolli that's popular in Busan and Gyeongnam!!!!! Since it's something you can't get just anywhere, my friends really loved it haha.

## Why the 2,000 won ramyeon add-on is a must

With a broth this spicy, adding noodles is essential! There's ramyeon and udon noodles, and we went with ramyeon noodles for ₩2,000. They boil it in the kitchen first, so you just add it to the pot and simmer briefly before eating. The broth was so rich it paired perfectly with the ramyeon noodles! It's a gochujang-based broth, ㅠㅠ with seafood flavor coming through too, which made it even more delicious. I want to eat it again...

After finishing two bottles of makgeolli, one bottle of soju, and cleaning up every last bit of ramyeon noodles — this is my review! A certified anju (drinking snack) spot in Seomyeon ~~~ I came in with no expectations, so being pleasantly surprised made the meal even better!!!

The meaning of the name 'Yuumangju' written at the entrance ^_^ Since it's not yet 'complete,' the future looks even more promising — this was my review of Yuumangju, a Seomyeon hotspot and anju spot in Busan! I recommend Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch, a bar with delicious food and a wide variety of drinks ~~
