## In short

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is an ocean-view Chinese restaurant in Haeundae, Busan, upstairs from Subyeonchoego Pork Gukbap. The visit covered seafood jjamppong, jajangmyeon, and a small order of black vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk, where the sauce felt a bit light for the amount of meat but tasted clean and smelled no gaminess. Sprinkling gochugaru (Korean chili flakes) over the soft jajangmyeon made it thick and spicy, exactly to taste.

Today's must-try place is a Haeundae, Busan favorite — a Marine City Chinese restaurant known for great jajangmyeon, jjamppong, and tangsuyuk: Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch.

## Location and hours of Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch

⛱️ This Marine City favorite sits in the area with the Dongbaekseom ocean view, on the 2nd floor above Suyeonchoego Pork Gukbap.

⏰ It's open every day with no closed days, from 11 AM to 10 PM. Break time is every day from 3:30 PM to 5 PM. Last order is at 3 PM and 8:30 PM.

🅿️ Parking is available in the same commercial building. Good to know before you visit :)

It's on the 2nd floor above Suyeonchoego Gukbap in Marine City. Walk a bit toward Dongbaekseom from the cluster of Marine City shops and you'll find it. Parking is possible in the building, but it felt like a hassle, so I just parked along the Marine City beachfront road instead. Every time I come to Marine City I end up parking along that road haha. On weekends the roadside is packed with parked cars..

## The Haeundae sea and Dongbaekseom view from the window seats

Since it's right~~ on the Marine City waterfront, sitting by the window means you get to eat while looking out at the Haeundae sea and Dongbaekseom. The ocean view greets you the moment you walk in, giving the whole place a really open feel :) If you're coming to Marine City, you gotta eat with an ocean view haha. Right?

## Restaurant atmosphere, group room, and corkage

The space is on the spacious side, and the gaps between tables are especially wide, which makes for a comfortable meal. Baby chairs were well stocked too, so it looks great for a family outing~!

There's a group room too, so if you're looking for a group gathering spot in Marine City, Haeundae, I'd recommend Bueokgan as a Marine City favorite. Haha, and corkage is also available, so keep that in mind! (fee applies)

## What we ordered

- Jajangmyeon (black bean noodles)
- Seafood jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup)
- Black vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk (sweet and sour fried pork)

![Basic side dishes: pickled Chinese cabbage and pickled radish](https://img.superchart.com/images/marine-city-chinese-tangsuyuk-small-size/marine-city-chinese-tangsuyuk-small-size-10-1uhly-650.webp)

After ordering, the basic side dishes came out — pickled radish (danmuji) and Chinese pickled cabbage (jjajangmyeon-style, jjasya-i). And true to a Chinese restaurant, we got brewed tea water instead of plain water~

Vinegar, soy sauce, and gochugaru aren't set out on the table separately — ask staff if you need them~

![Full table spread of the ordered Chinese dishes](https://img.superchart.com/images/marine-city-chinese-tangsuyuk-small-size/marine-city-chinese-tangsuyuk-small-size-13-1odem-650.webp)

Our order arrived~ Jajangmyeon and seafood jjamppong came out first, and the tangsuyuk followed a bit later. We ordered the small size for tangsuyuk, but the portion was actually pretty generous.

### Seafood jjamppong ₩18,000

Rather than an overwhelming variety of seafood, this jjamppong felt like it had the essential seafood packed in solidly. The red broth looks pretty fiery, right?

It leans more toward a rich, heavy-style jjamppong than a clear, light broth. Spicy enough that it might be good for a hangover cure.

A classic seafood jjamppong with shrimp, mussels, and octopus. The toppings actually outweigh the noodles — a hearty, spicy, tasty bowl.

Noodles soaked in that spicy broth~ It tasted great and got eaten up fast@@@

### Jajangmyeon ₩8,000

A big bowl generously topped with black bean sauce~~~ It's on the sweeter side, not too strong in flavor. More of a soft-style jajangmyeon than a deep, intense one.

![Jajangmyeon mixed with black bean sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/marine-city-chinese-tangsuyuk-small-size/marine-city-chinese-tangsuyuk-small-size-19-1pkw2-650.webp)

I personally like a stronger jajang flavor, so I sprinkled on plenty of gochugaru, and that made it thick and spicy, exactly to my taste. It's mild enough that kids would probably enjoy it too :)

### Tangsuyuk ₩28,000

Even as the small size, the portion was pretty generous~ The sauce comes already poured over. If you're a dip-it-yourself type, you'll probably want to ask staff whether they can serve the sauce on the side. I'm not picky about dipped vs. sauced, so I just dug in as-is haha.

But the sauce amount was a bit on the light side… There's plenty of fried meat, so a bit more sauce poured over it would've made it perfect. Hehe. The sauce itself was sweet and tangy and delicious, and even though I'm sensitive to gaminess in meat, this had none — fried nicely, savory and tender. It was a really good tangsuyuk. Making a little vinegar-soy dip on the side and dipping it in added even more flavor >.<
