A Munjeong-dong restaurant famous for delicious frozen pork belly — <Minari Naengsam>, a must-visit near Munjeong Station! I was searching for good food near Munjeong Station when I found Minari Naengsam, with great reviews and pork that looked amazing, so I went straight over. Turns out it's actually a very famous frozen pork belly spot near Munjeong Station, haha. Parking is free for 2.5 hours too, so I could park comfortably and just eat.

### Weekend evening wait and the room at Minari Naengsam

Minari Naengsam was completely full by around 7pm on a weekend evening. The doors were wide open, giving it that open-air, outdoor-seating kind of feel, which I really loved!

There were plenty of tables so we got seated right away, but by around 7pm on the weekend it was already full. As expected for such a popular Munjeong-dong restaurant — if you want to eat without waiting, you should get there before 7pm, haha.

### What is flower frozen pork belly (kkot naengsam)?

I first ordered two servings of flower frozen pork belly and one serving of pork cheek and jowl! Flower frozen pork belly is made Seocho-galbi style — domestic grade-1-or-higher female pork rolled up, flash-frozen, then sliced thin so the cross-section blooms like a flower. I'd never seen flower frozen pork belly before and it looked so pretty I was drooling already (≧∇≦)ﾉ

### Unlimited minari refills and the side dishes

On top of that, Minari Naengsam generously refills minari (water dropwort) brought in fresh every day from Garak Market, so you can pile it on top of your pork belly! They also give you plenty of green onion kimchi, mustard leaf kimchi, various sauces, and lettuce wraps, so you get a proper meat feast, haha. Great value too, so I was fully satisfied with how generous the side dishes were 😆

## How does the flower frozen pork belly taste?

Since it's sliced thin, it cooks fast, so I got to eat the delicious flower frozen pork belly right away! Savory juices burst in my mouth and it was truly, truly delicious, ㅠ.ㅠ Thin and crispy in texture but rich and savory in flavor — an absolute taste bomb 🤤 The pairing with the sauces and side dishes was so good, perfect to eat together, haha.

Eating it especially with grilled minari and kimchi made the flavor double, triple better — I completely devoured it, lol. My boyfriend even said it was the best frozen pork belly place he's been to recently 💕 The moment I tasted it, I understood exactly why it's famous as a Munjeong-dong restaurant!

## Is the minari pork jowl worth ordering too?

Next up, the currently trendy pork cheek and jowl! Apparently only 200g comes from a whole pig, making it a truly rare specialty cut. I'd always wanted to try it for its chewy, springy texture, and to find it at Minari Naengsam felt like total luck 👏🏻

The pork cheek and jowl was the ultimate in savory flavor — the juices and richness were incredible! The chewy texture was appealing too, and it was so savory and rich, pure meaty goodness ✨ If I come back, I'm definitely reordering both the flower frozen pork belly and the pork cheek and jowl, haha.

## Sides at Minari Naengsam: egg soup and doenjang stew

I happened to be craving egg soup that day so we ordered it along with everything else, and it had a light kick from red pepper flakes, which made it even better! We didn't drink that day, but if you order this as a drinking snack, it would be amazing 👍 The broth was generous too, great either as an anju (drinking snack) or alongside the meat.

The doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) wasn't the kind that's been boiled forever until it's just salty — it tasted like something made at home, which genuinely surprised me! The broth was deep and savory, and eating a bite of meat followed by a spoonful of doenjang stew broth felt like pure heaven (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ) It's packed with tofu, mushrooms, and other ingredients, so ordering it alongside the meal makes for a really filling dinner.
