This time, we took out the great-value assorted sashimi + mulhoe set for two from Samsami-ne Gyeongpodae Main Branch and brought it to St. John's. We ate on the hotel terrace while looking at the sea, and the atmosphere was even nicer than I expected, so I was pretty happy with dinner that day. It is a sashimi restaurant near Gyeongpo Beach, so it was easy to stop by during our trip. Since we were eating at the hotel, rather than ordering separate things, we chose a set we could enjoy all at once. After we ordered, they took live fish straight from the tank and prepared it for us. We could hear the waves, and the sea breeze was gently blowing, so the atmosphere was lovely too. I was so happy there was aged kimchi. I dipped the sashimi in soy sauce and chojang (sweet-and-tangy chili sauce), then also put it over sushi rice. Personally, I liked that the set came with rice. Making sushi here and there instead of eating sashimi alone felt a little different, and it also made the meal feel more filling. Eating the vegetables and sashimi in the tangy seasoning, then having a spoonful of broth, tasted just like mulhoe should by the Gangneung coast. Sashimi + mulhoe is the best🫶 And a glass of somaek, soju and beer mixed together, with the sea as our backdrop. ## How to take out sashimi to your Gangneung accommodation Having taken it out and eaten it myself this time, I thought getting sashimi takeout while staying in Gangneung was a really good idea. You can spend time around Gyeongpodae, stop by Samsami-ne for takeout, and return to your accommodation—there is no need to search for a restaurant again at dinner time! What I liked most was being able to eat while looking at the sea from the terrace. Since you have come all the way to Gangneung, if you want to enjoy the sea properly from your accommodation too, I think dinner like this would be nice.
