## In short

Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch is a 24-hour Korean restaurant on the first floor of Drama City, about 550m from Exit 6 of Suwon City Hall Station in Gyeonggi. The writer and her boyfriend ordered the small pork bone hot pot for 29,000 won at medium spice, ate the potatoes and bone meat, added one serving of fried rice, and finished with the free ice cream given to dining customers. Even for someone weak with spicy food, the medium level at Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk was pleasantly hot rather than punishing.

Today I went with my boyfriend to Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch, near Suwon City Hall Station in Ingye-dong. The name literally has "spicy" (eolkeunhan) in it so I was curious how spicy it would actually be haha. Besides haejangguk (hangover soup), they also have pork bone hot pot which is great for sharing, so this time we ordered the small hot pot. And the best part — dining customers get free ice cream...! We ate our meal and made sure to grab an ice cream too :) Let's get into it~~

Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch is on the first floor of the Drama City building. The big red sign is visible from outside so it wasn't hard to find haha.

### Inside Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk: seating and tables

Walking in, the place was clean and, even in the late afternoon, pretty packed with customers! Since it's open 24 hours, I liked that you don't really have to worry about the time when you come.

## Free ice cream for diners and the self-serve side dish bar

And what caught my eye here was the free ice cream! Dining customers could use it for free. It said hot pot customers could take one per person in their party, while haejangguk customers got one per person. Opening the freezer, there were more kinds than I expected haha. I liked that it wasn't some bulk factory ice cream but actual brands you'd find in stores ><. I decided to save this for dessert after the meal — noted!

Extra side dishes and water are self-serve! The self-serve bar had kimchi, kkakdugi (radish kimchi) and other basic side dishes that go well with haejangguk.

## Menu and pork bone hot pot prices

![Menu board listing pork bone hot pot and bone haejangguk](https://img.superchart.com/images/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice-07-1fng7-1280.webp)

The main menu items are pork bone hot pot, bone haejangguk, and seonji (blood sausage) haejangguk. The pork bone hot pot was ₩29,000 for small, ₩38,000 for medium, and ₩44,000 for large — we ordered the small for ₩29,000.

![Menu showing the four spice level options](https://img.superchart.com/images/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice-08-4nblg-900.webp)

For the bone haejangguk and seonji haejangguk, you can choose your spice level: extra spicy, spicy, medium, or mild. I originally planned to get the spicy level, but after reading that it's quite hot, I ended up choosing medium spice for the hot pot instead. I'm not great with spicy food so I decided not to push my luck haha.

![A pot of small pork bone hot pot topped with perilla leaves and green onion](https://img.superchart.com/images/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice-10-4rjap-900.webp)

## How spicy is the small bone hot pot at medium level?

After a short wait, the pork bone hot pot came out in a big pot. On top there was a generous amount of perilla leaves and green onion, with bones, potatoes and various vegetables underneath. We let it boil once before digging in.

![Medium spice hot pot broth after boiling, being spooned up](https://img.superchart.com/images/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice-11-1chry-900.webp)

I was glad I went with medium spice for the broth!! It wasn't too hot but still had a nice kick, so I could keep spooning it up comfortably. That said, it wasn't totally mild either — it was just right for me. If you're sensitive to spice, I'd recommend starting with medium or mild instead of spicy.

![Large pork spine pieces boiling in the hot pot](https://img.superchart.com/images/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice-12-6kvt6-900.webp)

![Hot pot meat lifted with tongs](https://img.superchart.com/images/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice-13-10ee2-1200.webp)

We also picked the meat off the bones one by one. The chunks of meat were pretty big, so it was fun using tongs to pull the meat off the bone. It came off really easily too haha, so it was easy to eat comfortably.

![Broth-soaked potato in the hot pot](https://img.superchart.com/images/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice-16-b8l85-900.webp)

And the potatoes in this hot pot were seriously delicious!! They were cooked soft in the broth and soaked up all the seasoning — you just can't resist potatoes in a hot pot or gamjatang (spicy pork bone soup) like this haha. Eating a potato between bites of meat was so satisfying hehe.

![The hot pot partway through the meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice-18-9c8x7-900.webp)

## Finishing with one serving of fried rice

After we'd eaten a good amount of the hot pot, we added a serving of fried rice. It just feels wrong to eat hot pot and not finish with fried rice, right...?

![Fried rice made with the leftover broth and seaweed flakes](https://img.superchart.com/images/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice-19-1tirf-900.webp)

They fried rice in the leftover broth and added plenty of seaweed flakes — the perfect finish!!! Haha, the broth had soaked into the rice so even though I was already full, my spoon just kept going back for more hehe.

![Free Screwbar ice cream chosen for dessert](https://img.superchart.com/images/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice-20-d5bz1-900.webp)

And the real final touch — the ice cream I'd scoped out earlier! I picked a Screwbar for myself~!! After all that spicy hot pot, a cold ice cream was the perfect way to cleanse the palate. Being able to have dessert right after the meal was really satisfying ><!!

## Final verdict on Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch

![Full spread of the small pork bone hot pot meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice/suwon-ingye-bone-hotpot-fried-rice-21-aajba-900.webp)

At Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch, I had the small pork bone hot pot at medium spice and finished up with fried rice. Even the medium spice level had just the right amount of heat, and I really liked not just the meat but the broth-soaked potatoes too. Finishing off with fried rice made it feel like a proper full meal!!! The free ice cream for dining customers was also memorable — I made sure to enjoy a Screwbar before I left haha. This is a solid spot for an Ingye-dong haejangguk dinner, an Ingye-dong Korean food solo meal, or just a good Ingye-dong restaurant to try :)
