## In short

Kkuseokji Dolpan Hanu Incheon Nonhyeon Branch is a Korean beef restaurant in Nonhyeon-dong, Namdong-gu, Incheon, where hanwoo (Korean beef) is ordered by the 100g cut and grilled on a thick stone plate. The writer ordered three cuts — ansangsal (skirt steak), galbisal (rib finger) and salchisal (top blade) — and finished with a 1,000 won hanwoo bone soup and doenjang sulbap (soybean paste rice), with the stone plate preheated on a timer before grilling. Kkuseokji suits a dinner for two who want to taste several hanwoo cuts a little at a time.

I've been craving beef lately so my partner and I went out for some hanwoo (Korean beef) haha. This place is exactly what the name says — a spot where you grill hanwoo on a stone plate — and you can eat it at a relatively affordable price, so it's a solid choice when you want Korean beef in Namdong, Incheon. A good restaurant in Namhyeon-dong, Incheon —

## Inside Kkuseokji: dinner for two, a family meal or a work dinner

The restaurant was bigger than I expected and the tables had a decent amount of space between them. We visited later than typical dinner time, and while it's great for two people, it also seemed like it would work well for a family meal or a company dinner. And even though it's a barbecue place, the ventilation was good, so the smell of grilled meat wasn't overwhelming.

## How to order hanwoo by the cut in 100g portions

Looking at the Kkuseokji Dolpan Hanu menu, you can order Korean beef by the cut in 100g portions, which is great for trying a bit of several different cuts. They promise 1,000x compensation if it's not real hanwoo, so that's reassuring, right? Hahahaha.

![Poster about the Naver receipt review event](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup-09-124qr-966.webp)

After some deliberation we ordered ansangsal + galbisal + salchisal. When it comes to hanwoo, you really have to try multiple cuts, haha. They also had a Naver receipt review event going on, just FYI.

### Banchan and the self-serve side dish bar

Once you order the meat, a neat set of basic side dishes comes out — shredded green onion, diced radish kimchi, lettuce wraps, garlic, ssamjang (dipping sauce), wasabi, salt, and more.

![Self-serve bar where guests can refill side dishes](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup-13-32zmx-966.webp)

If you run out of any side dish, you can just grab more from the self-serve bar. I love eating meat with shredded green onion, so I kept going back for more, haha.

![Plate of hanwoo ansangsal, galbisal and salchisal](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup-15-es8j0-966.webp)

![Assorted hanwoo platter with fat placed on top of mushrooms](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup-16-1ppcm-966.webp)

Ta-da~ Can you see how the meat looks? The color is insane, right?

The fat sitting on top of the mushrooms is there to grease the stone plate, haha.

![Thick stone plate preheating with a timer set](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup-17-f75gd-966.webp)

## How to grill hanwoo on the stone plate: preheat by timer first

And here's the real highlight — this stone plate. It's so thick that you don't just throw the meat on right away; they preheat it thoroughly first. They set a timer, heat the plate until it's really hot, then put the meat on, and the moment it hits the surface — tsssssss — that sound alone gets your saliva going, haha. With the smell of grilled meat rising, I suddenly got even hungrier.

While the plate heats up, they bring out soju-and-beer, aka the 'life-saving liquor,' haha.

![Hanwoo salchisal cooking on the stone plate](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup-18-1gdeq-966.webp)

### Salchisal (top blade)

You can see how dense the marbling is, right? This was the most tender of the three, and I liked it the best. Soft and nutty, with a tiny dab of wasabi it cut through any richness nicely. The meat itself is so good you don't even need much to dip it in — just a light touch of salt was the cleanest way to eat it, haha. Hanwoo cooks so fast — one bite per shot of soju, so we grilled two pieces at a time, hahaha.

![Grilled hanwoo ansangsal with visible muscle fiber texture](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup-19-htixr-966.webp)

### Ansangsal (skirt steak)

Of the three cuts, this one had the most distinct muscle fiber texture. Cooked to medium, it had a strong beefy aroma and a satisfying chew. Beef really does taste better slightly underdone rather than cooked all the way through. Good with a touch of salt, and also good with a bit of wasabi.

![Hanwoo galbisal grilled on the stone plate](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup-20-tn9gm-966.webp)

### Galbisal (rib finger)

Next up, galbisal! Also nutty, and the more you chew, the more juice seems to come out — really tasty. It's good with shredded green onion, and good wrapped with a bit of garlic too. My partner and I kept grilling one piece each and the plate emptied fast, haha. Time flies so quickly when you're eating meat...

![Hanwoo bone soup served in a ttukbaegi](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup-21-c93a9-966.webp)

## The 1,000 won hanwoo bone soup: yes, really 1,000 won

The hanwoo bone soup at Kkuseokji Dolpan Hanu Incheon Nonhyeon Branch is ₩1,000. The long-awaited bone soup finally arrives! It's really just a thousand won. I wasn't expecting a huge portion for that price, but it still came in a proper ttukbaegi (stone pot).

![Hanwoo bone soup seasoned with salt, pepper and spicy pepper](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup-22-ba3if-966.webp)

And oh my — this is insane. Each table has salt and pepper set out, and once you add salt, pepper, and some spicy pepper, it's genuinely delicious. Hot and savory, so after a bite of meat and a spoonful of soup, you just keep going. Especially if you're drinking, this is a must-order. And since it's just a thousand won, there's zero pressure, haha. A ₩1,000 hanwoo bone soup — not ordering this feels like a loss, honestly, hahaha.

![Doenjang sullbap ordered to finish the meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup/kkuseokji-dolpan-hanwoo-incheon-nonhyeon-bone-soup-23-1cxv6-966.webp)

## Finishing with doenjang sulbap (soybean paste rice)

And of course, the finale is doenjang sullbap (soybean paste rice). You have to finish with something like this after eating meat, right?

It felt like eating rice mixed into doenjang jjigae, and it made for a satisfying finish. After all that meat left things feeling a bit rich, a spoonful of this just kept going down easily, haha. My partner and I kept saying 'we're full, so why do we keep eating?' and ended up finishing it all. Koreans really do have to finish a meal with rice.

## Who is Kkuseokji Dolpan Hanu Nonhyeon best for?

Overall, Kkuseokji Dolpan Hanu lets you pick hanwoo cuts individually, there's the fun of grilling it yourself on the stone plate, and the price isn't too heavy, so it's a good option when you're craving Korean beef. It's especially good for people like us who'd rather try a little of several cuts — ansangsal, galbisal, salchisal — instead of just one. And that ₩1,000 hanwoo bone soup at the end stuck in my memory too, haha.

Also, Kkuseokji Dolpan Hanu Incheon Nonhyeon Branch is open as usual during Chuseok this year — all four days, September 24 to 27. With family gathering for the holiday, a restaurant that stays open feels precious, right? Enjoying some good hanwoo sounds like a nice idea too.

This time I filled up properly with hanwoo, bone soup, and doenjang sullbap. It's been a while since I had proper hanwoo like this, haha. Next time I'll have to try the garlic soy-marinated galbi.
