Ryusenso is a Japanese ramen restaurant a one-minute walk from Jeonpo Station in Busanjin, Busan. After work, I had Level 1 spicy Hakata tonkotsu ramen with extra chashu, ajitama egg, and rice for ₩15,500. Ryusenso is a satisfying late-night pick for a hearty, spicy bowl.

Today’s post is about my satisfying solo meal at Ryusenso, a great Jeonpo ramen spot for dining alone and a 24-hour place for a late-night hangover cure, too.

## One minute from Jeonpo Station, solo dining at the bar

Ryusenso is a Japanese ramen specialist just a one-minute walk from Jeonpo Station—10 out of 10 for accessibility 💯 It has held its spot in Jeonpo-dong, one of Busan’s hottest neighborhoods, for over six years, so surely its ramen needs no questioning, right!?

There’s a neat open kitchen and a long run of bar seating right in front of it〰️ With eight seats in total, it works for a date too, while still feeling comfortable for solo diners.

The cozy wood-toned interior and soft lighting make it feel extra warm ✨ I went in the evening after work, and it was a Jeonpo hot spot with solo diners constantly coming in—some having a casual beer, others settling in for a hearty meal.

First, grab the seat you like, fill out the order sheet yourself, and hand it to the staff 📝

There are four ramen varieties in total, but keep in mind that the kaki ramen, made with fresh oysters, is only available from October through April ☑️ Definitely join the Naver review event, where you can get two pieces of fried chicken or a drink on the house‼️

## Level 1 kara ramen and extra toppings

To enjoy it exactly how I like, I helped myself to tsukemono (Japanese pickled mustard greens) and minced garlic ahead of time 🤩

I watched them torch the chashu, and then my kara ramen arrived in no time!! True fast food—it took less than five minutes 👍🏻

> Ryusenso Kara (spicy Hakata tonkotsu ramen, Level 1) / extra chashu + ajitama egg / bowl of rice

The spicy Hakata tonkotsu ramen, made with pork broth, can be adjusted from Levels 1 to 3. I heard even Level 1 was spicier than Shin Ramyun, and got nervous, so I chose Level 1 🥺

Doesn’t that bright-red broth piled high with toppings look so appetizing? 🤤

The two extra slices of chashu came straight on top of the ramen, and I was all set for a proper feast with ajitama egg and rice too! 🐽

The noodles hiding in the broth are on the thin side, so they do not taste overly floury. I loved their firm, springy bite.

### Broth spicier than Shin Ramyun, milder than Buldak

The broth was spicier than Shin Ramyun but less spicy than Buldak, just right for me—deliciously hot enough that I kept reaching for more. It would be great as a hangover cure too 🔥

![Deliciously spicy tonkotsu ramen broth](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeonpo-spicy-tonkotsu-ramen-ryusenso/jeonpo-spicy-tonkotsu-ramen-ryusenso-15-qoouo-900.webp)

![Ramen with chashu and wood ear mushrooms](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeonpo-spicy-tonkotsu-ramen-ryusenso/jeonpo-spicy-tonkotsu-ramen-ryusenso-16-1w23r-900.webp)

There was plenty of soft, flame-kissed chashu and wonderfully addictive, firm wood ear mushrooms too 👏🏻

The ajitama egg had such a bouncy texture!! Its yolk was cooked just enough to melt beautifully into the broth, while the white was super chewy•• Egg lovers, absolutely add it 🥚

A delicious tip I learned from Ppangppang: wrap the noodles in the extra chashu!!

It was tasty as is, but after enjoying the basics for a while, I added minced garlic and pepper too 🧂

The extra savory heat definitely brought it closer to Korean tastes, and I enjoyed it so much 🫶🏻

I’m the kind of rice lover who does not feel like I’ve had a meal unless I mix rice into the soup 🍚 The noodle portion is pretty generous, so I set aside the leftover noodles and absolutely mixed in the rice.

The deeply simmered pork broth went so well with steamed rice, and adding the pickled mustard greens made it taste wonderfully clean 👅

I also recommend this Jeonpo-dong restaurant when you want a simple drink in a calm atmosphere with a Japanese feel 🍺

The restroom is indoors, so it is comfortable to use, and even the gentle music had such good vibes•• Go treat yourself to some post-work healing time 😇

![A bowl of rich Ryusenso tonkotsu ramen](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeonpo-spicy-tonkotsu-ramen-ryusenso/jeonpo-spicy-tonkotsu-ramen-ryusenso-22-1nn5i-900.webp)

If you are looking for a Jeonpo Station restaurant with rich tonkotsu ramen or a Jeonpo-dong meal spot open late, I highly recommend Ryusenso 🍜
