Dipping the sourdough into the sauce gave a spicy, deep flavor that paired perfectly with the bread. The sourdough we added was crisp outside, soft inside. Popping the yolk and mixing it into the sauce made it even smoother and nuttier. The French toast was crisp outside and soft inside, and with the sweet syrup on top it was easily good enough to be dessert.
