For our first meal out, we decided to visit the Chinese restaurant Dad said he passed every night on his walks around Dongbaekseom. He said a new Chinese restaurant had opened on the second floor and that he really wanted to try it, so off we went ٩(๑´0`๑)۶ > Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch It sits right in the middle of Marine City, so I was already expecting an amazing view. By public transit, it is a 15-minute walk from Dongbaek Station, or within 10 minutes on foot from the bus stop. Driving? It genuinely felt like we had come abroad! Since it is on the second floor, I figured the Dongbaekseom-plus-sea view would be even better. There were seven ocean-view window seats and about six or seven tables in the main hall. There were also two rooms: a small one for about five people, and a large one for up to 20!! And something I thought was so thoughtful: there was a hand-washing area haha. You cannot help but use your hands when eating gochujapchae (stir-fried peppers and shredded meat) with flower buns, so it was convenient not having to go to the restroom before and after eating. The half-cooked-egg gan-jjajang looked seriously delicious haha. There were lots of mains too, including shiitake sha, eohyang gaji, and cream shrimp, plus three-course and five-course sets. Our family wanted to try a variety, so we ordered the three-course set for three!! ٩(๑´0`๑)۶ This was the basic setting! It is easy to think of it as a cucumber salad hahaha. The sauce was tangy and went so well with the cucumber, while the generous onion gave it a nice bite. It comes with four flower buns as standard, and we added four more (+₩2,000). What I really loved was the substantial proportion of meat! With so many thick pieces of meat, it felt like we could eat it endlessly with the buns hahaha. It seemed to have a similar amount of vegetables and mushrooms too... Gochujapchae was both Mom's and Dad's number-one pick ★ ## Crispy tangsuyuk and eohyang gaji Next was tangsuyuk, Korean Chinese sweet-and-sour pork! It was super crispy, and I loved that there was absolutely no pork smell. I am on team dip-the-sauce, so I was a little sad it arrived with sauce poured over it... but it stayed crispy even with the sauce, so I approve ٩(๑´0`๑)۶ The portion was so large that we could not finish it. It had a totally different charm from the one I had in Euljiro. It was not spicy, just wonderfully crispy!! I thought that if eggplant were always served like this, nobody in the world would dislike it hahaha. Ta-da-da-da~ A shot of the eohyang mandu we received through the review event too! They were fried dumplings, so very crispy, and packed full of filling. They would probably have gone so well with jjajangmyeon. Most seats have an ocean view, and there are rooms too, so it looked like a great choice for social-club gatherings, birthday parties, family gatherings, and other occasions. Mom said it would be a good place for her next social-club meet-up too!
