I ran over the moment I heard that Ganppa Beer, a famous draft beer bar in Gwangalli, had opened a second location. Ganppa Beer is well known among beer lovers — they've even done an official collab with Sapporo — and every keg is finished within 24 hours as a rule, so fresh beer is guaranteed!! Let's get into the review.

## Where is Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2, and when is it open?

Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 is right near Gwangalli Beach, so it's perfect to drop by after a beach walk. Hours are daily 18:00–02:00, with last order at 01:00.

Reservations are available. There's also an event where booking through Naver Reservation earns you Naver Points, so if you're visiting during the promotion, make sure to book through Naver first!!

The exterior is so hip it catches your eye from the street haha. There's also space to eat outdoors — probably great when the weather's cool.

Just like the original location, the second branch is also a standing bar. Drinking standing up... there's something to it. Perfect for a quick, simple beer, and great for solo drinking too...!

There was a beer-pouring machine (?) by the window, but it seemed to be more of a decoration — beer isn't actually poured there. The kitchen is separate.

## Menu and prices at Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2

Ebisu draft beer is ₩11,900, Sapporo draft beer is ₩8,900. There's also a set menu with two glasses of Sapporo draft plus a side dish. There's a note saying it's fine to skip the food if you're full, which made me think the owner is a true beer fanatic. 'Our beer is delicious, so please at least drink the beer!!' That kind of vibe haha.

There's non-alcoholic beer too, and a range of snacks that go well with beer like yakisoba and tebasaki (Japanese fried chicken wings). There are also simple bites like gyoza and odeng (fish cake), perfect for a round two.

Order complete: one Ebisu draft, one Sapporo draft, and butter octopus! Ordering works by paying at the counter as you walk in, then heading straight to your table.

Every table has markers and a notebook, so you can even leave a message in the guestbook. There were fun little details everywhere, making it enjoyable to hang out while waiting for the beer and food.

## Sapporo draft vs Ebisu draft: what's the difference?

Here it is, here it is. (Left) Sapporo draft, (Right) Ebisu draft. First off, the foam ratio was super perfect! And the foam was dense and smooth, so even a beer novice like me could tell — this is proper draft beer.

Sapporo draft was clean and cool with strong carbonation — exactly my style. Ebisu draft felt smoother and had more depth.

### Butter-grilled octopus, the side dish to order

I wanted a simple side dish, so I ordered the butter octopus. The octopus had something like honey drizzled on it, sweet and savory. Exactly the beer-snack feeling. Wasabi came alongside too, which I appreciated!! Plus crunchy peanuts 🥜

## Receipt-review raffle: what a 5th-place polaroid gets you

They run this cute little event too!! A staff member walks around and runs it — if you leave a receipt review, you get one draw.

- 1st place: a whopping ₩100,000 voucher!!
- 2nd place: ₩50,000 voucher
- 3rd place: a set menu of your choice
- 4th place: one glass of Sapporo draft
- 5th place: ₩1,000 voucher or a polaroid voucher

## The 9 pm keg-opening bell and rock-paper-scissors for a free beer

Around 9pm, they opened a fresh beer keg and rang a bell!! They also played rock-paper-scissors and gave the winner a free draft beer 🎉 I got knocked out early ㅜㅜ haha, but it was still so much fun.

Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 was packed with fun little details! The draft beer was excellent, and above all, the freshness was the best part. If you ever want a simple, proper glass of draft beer for round two, give this place a try!
