I went to Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi because I wanted a hearty meat meal in Gwangalli!

It is a Gwangalli Korean BBQ restaurant where you can try Jeju-style pork. It would have been a shame to stop at samgyeopsal (pork belly), so I ordered kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) and gogi guksu (pork noodle soup), too—for such a filling, satisfying meal! I tried everything from the meat to the meal dishes.

## We ordered plenty of meat and meal dishes

At Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi in Gwangalli, we ordered meat, kimchi jjigae, and gogi guksu that day. Since there were two of us, we wanted to try a range of meal dishes rather than eat only meat, so we ordered generously.

It specializes in Jeju pork, so it looked like a good place for anyone who usually enjoys Jeju-style pork!

## Grilling thick-cut Jeju pork

As soon as the meat arrived, its thick-cut appearance caught my eye. With three portions of meat, there was plenty, and it really felt like we had come out for a proper meat feast.

When I look for great samgyeopsal at a Gwangalli Korean BBQ restaurant, I tend to care about the thickness and juiciness of the meat. Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi looked appetizing even before taking a bite ><

For the thick meat, you just sear the outside thoroughly, cut it into bite-size pieces, and let it finish cooking. As the nutty aroma characteristic of Gwangalli samgyeopsal rose up, the wait while it grilled felt the longest.

The well-cooked meat was pleasantly chewy on the outside and moist inside with each bite. The more I chewed, the more nutty flavor came through, and its thickness really gave it great texture.

It was delicious on its own, but I kept reaching for it without getting tired of it when eaten with the side dishes. Every accompaniment was so good!

## How was the samgyeopsal and kimchi jjigae pairing?

After eating some of the meat, I tried the kimchi jjigae, too. When you are eating samgyeopsal, you start craving warm, spicy broth, and kimchi jjigae was a great match for that.

The kimchi jjigae was totally my style, so I finished a whole bowl of rice in no time..! A sip of kimchi jjigae broth after a bite of savory meat makes your mouth feel refreshed. Aren't the ingredients generous, too?

It was good with rice and also nice to have between bites of meat. If you are debating a side dish at Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi in Gwangalli, I would strongly recommend the kimchi jjigae! Its rich broth made the meal feel warm and hearty right through to the end.

## Gogi guksu added a Jeju touch

I cannot leave out the gogi guksu that we ordered with the kimchi jjigae. Since we were at a Jeju pork restaurant, I was curious about the pork noodles, so I ordered them. The warm broth and noodles had a different appeal from samgyeopsal. I think it would suit anyone who wants to finish Korean BBQ in Gwangalli with warm noodles.

I mixed the noodles well into the broth and ate them with the meat, and they were filling enough for a meal on their own. While the kimchi jjigae had a spicy appeal, the gogi guksu was a more comforting, gentle dish. Since the two meal dishes had such different moods, it could be nice for a group to order one of each and share.

Ordering everything from the meat to kimchi jjigae and gogi guksu made me feel like I had fully enjoyed the appeal of Jeju pork, haha. If you are deciding what meal dish to have with samgyeopsal at a Gwangalli Korean BBQ restaurant, choose the spicy kimchi jjigae or warm gogi guksu according to your taste. Personally, the two dishes had different charms, so I was happy we ordered both.

If you want thick Jeju pork and hearty meal dishes together in Gwangalli, Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi could be a good place to visit. It was a Gwangalli Korean BBQ restaurant where we could eat plenty of meat and finish with kimchi jjigae and gogi guksu!
