## In short

Milyang Dol Jjamppong is a stone-plate jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) restaurant on Baekmin-ro in Milyang, Gyeongnam. Visiting with two kids, the writer waited 11 teams and about 20 minutes via Tableing before getting seated, then ordered a stone jjamppong set for two with mini donttang & chitang, fried dumplings, and a meat-packed kids' jajangmyeon. With a free self-serve rice bar and a dedicated kids' menu, it's a solid stop for a meal with children while touring Yeongnamnu and the Milyang Starlight Garden.

Hello, it's Okname-mom, back again with another good meal with my kids Ok-nammae. We were out in Milyang trying to figure out what to eat for lunch, and we ended up finding a place — Milyang Dol Jjamppong.

Milyang means Yeongnamnu Pavilion, and these days you can't skip the super-hot Starlight Garden either, so before heading over I was looking for somewhere nearby good to eat with the kids, and we really enjoyed it. So let me introduce Okname-mom's official Milyang go-to restaurant, haha — Milyang Dol Jjamppong!

## Milyang Dol Jjamppong: location, hours, and parking

- 📍Milyang Dol Jjamppong
- Location: 82-1 Baekmin-ro, 1st floor, Milyang-si, Gyeongsangnam-do
- Hours: 10:30-20:00 (weekday break time 15:30-17:00)
- Parking: use the lot in front of the restaurant or the public parking lot right next door

## An 11-team wait — how long did it actually take?

As soon as we got to Milyang Dol Jjamppong I was shocked by the massive wait — there were even more people than what's in the photo, haha. But the more crowded it is, the more Okname-mom wants to eat there...

We put our name down with Tableing and waited. 11 teams ahead of us. Thought, this is nothing! And after about 20 minutes of waiting, we were in!

## Inside Milyang Dol Jjamppong and the self-serve bar

![Interior of Milyang Dol Jjamppong with many tables](https://img.superchart.com/images/miryang-dol-jjamppong-kids-set/miryang-dol-jjamppong-kids-set-02-vz430-900.webp)

![Well-spaced dining seats at Milyang Dol Jjamppong](https://img.superchart.com/images/miryang-dol-jjamppong-kids-set/miryang-dol-jjamppong-kids-set-03-lqr42-844.webp)

The moment we walked in we were hit by an amazing smell..! There were more tables than I expected, so turnover must be fast! The tables were also spaced well apart, so we could sit and eat comfortably.

![Self-serve bar corner with a free-rice sign](https://img.superchart.com/images/miryang-dol-jjamppong-kids-set/miryang-dol-jjamppong-kids-set-04-14ps7-900.webp)

It's not a one-order-per-person restaurant, so light eaters won't feel pressured! Haha.

There's a self-serve bar off to one side — and rice is free! There was also delicious green onion kimchi. Being able to freely go back and grab more side dishes when you run out was really nice.

## The menu at Milyang Dol Jjamppong and what we ordered

Stone jjajang or stone jjamppong, that was the question! But what does the sign say? Milyang Dol Jjamppong, right? So our family went with

- Set stone jjamppong (for 2) + (mini) donttang & chitang — ₩38,000
- Fried dumplings — ₩8,000 (₩1,000 off if added to a set order)
- Meat-packed kids' jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) — ₩7,000

That's what we ordered!

## Bubbling stone jjamppong and the scorched rice at the bottom

First to arrive were the stone jjamppong, donttang & chitang, and fried dumplings.

True to its name, the stone jjamppong comes out on a hot stone plate — visually, a total win! It arrives bubbling away, which meant it stayed hot all the way through, which I loved.

![Noodles lifted up, well-coated with the stone jjamppong broth](https://img.superchart.com/images/miryang-dol-jjamppong-kids-set/miryang-dol-jjamppong-kids-set-14-npd7a-900.webp)

![Close-up of the spicy stone jjamppong broth](https://img.superchart.com/images/miryang-dol-jjamppong-kids-set/miryang-dol-jjamppong-kids-set-15-kjpni-900.webp)

![Stone jjamppong filled with seafood and vegetables](https://img.superchart.com/images/miryang-dol-jjamppong-kids-set/miryang-dol-jjamppong-kids-set-16-kmq6r-900.webp)

![Scorched rice (nurungji) at the bottom of the stone plate](https://img.superchart.com/images/miryang-dol-jjamppong-kids-set/miryang-dol-jjamppong-kids-set-17-1s57r-900.webp)

Most of all, the broth was really delicious. It had that spicy, rich jjamppong flavor without being overwhelmingly hot, so I kept going back for more. The noodles had soaked up the broth well, so every bite delivered the full flavor of the soup.

And once we'd finished, there was scorched rice (nurungji) sitting at the bottom of the stone plate — eating that together with the broth was totally my style, haha. You have to try it.

## For a meal with kids: the kids' jajangmyeon

And then, jajangmyeon for our two kids! Going to a Chinese restaurant with kids usually means it's hard to share spicy dishes, so having a separate kids' jajangmyeon was great. As the name suggests, it's loaded with meat, and I think that's why our kids ate it up even more, haha.

### The unusual donttang & chitang

Donttang & dontchi — sort of like breaded pork cutlet meets sweet-and-sour pork, and chicken meets sweet-and-sour pork, kind of unusual but interesting. Freshly fried and delicious, and dipped in the sauce it disappeared in no time, haha. Our second kid loved it so much, ate so well, I was so proud.

The crisply fried dumplings were our daughter's pick — she said they were really delicious and ate them right up, haha.

Don't miss the receipt review event!

We finished things off cleanly with a green grape ade.

![Dessert corner with coffee and candy](https://img.superchart.com/images/miryang-dol-jjamppong-kids-set/miryang-dol-jjamppong-kids-set-23-6vf1q-844.webp)

There was also a dessert corner that showed off the owner's thoughtfulness — coffee, candy, and a cooler packed full of yogurt drinks that felt like a real gesture of generosity from the owner, haha.

## Overall verdict — a meal to pair with a Yeongnamnu and Starlight Garden outing

If you're traveling around Milyang with kids like we were and looking for a lunch or dinner spot, Milyang Dol Jjamppong seems like a solid choice. That day we ate well across the board — the stone jjamppong set, the kids' jajangmyeon, and the fried dumplings.

In particular, the hot, bubbling stone jjamppong was fun to watch as well as eat, and staying warm all the way through was a real plus. It's a good option for a filling meal with kids after checking out Yeongnamnu and the Starlight Garden in Milyang, so if you're looking for a good restaurant near Yeongnamnu in Milyang, it's worth considering.

Our family walked out that day saying "this is delicious" more than a few times, feeling great about the meal. If you're looking for a Chinese food spot to eat with kids in Milyang, give Milyang Dol Jjamppong a try.
