I went to Kkomak Hansang Gijang Main Branch, a Korean set-meal restaurant that's a bit of a local favorite in Gijang.

If you've ever gone out to Busan's Oshiria tourist complex, Lotte World Busan, or Haedong Yonggungsa Temple and wondered, "where should we have a proper dinner tonight?" — I've got a review for you today. Kkomak Hansang Gijang Main Branch (꼬막한상 기장본점) is a Korean set-meal specialist that uses fresh cockles hand-gathered every dawn from Beolgyo, paired with a 20-year secret sauce recipe that even wins over older palates!

We stopped by for dinner after happily exploring Lotte World's Maple zone, and from the main dish to all 12 handmade side dishes, it was such a satisfying meal haha.

## Floor-to-ceiling windows and parking — what's the interior like?

The moment I walked in, the wide floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides and the spacious, clean interior caught my eye! It's close to Gijang Oshiria, Lotte Outlet, and Songjeong Beach, so it's really convenient for a route with other stops, and the 2 hours of free underground parking made driving there much easier.

(For reference, there's also a dried barley corvina set for ₩27,000.) Around the main cockle bibimbap, the table was set with 12 handmade side dishes practically groaning under the weight — I was genuinely amazed! Every single one was perfectly seasoned and clearly made with care.

From the crushed peanuts sprinkled nicely over the sweet and sour eggplant to the pretty red pepper garnish on the pollock pancake, everything looked great too. The lotus root with black sesame sauce especially had such a thick, rich sauce that it tasted almost like dessert — the nuttiness was amazing!

## How do the cockle bibimbap, beef pancake, and cockle salad taste?

It was a healthy, savory flavor without being overpowering. The cockle bibimbap had zero fishy taste and a wonderful springy texture, probably because the cockles come fresh from Beolgyo every dawn!

The 20-year secret soy sauce blend wasn't too heavy, harsh, or salty at all — I found myself thinking, "my parents would really love this if I brought them here!"

The tangy-sweet cockles in sweet-and-sour sauce weren't too sharp or sour — it's the textbook version of a refreshing sweet-and-tangy flavor! The crunchy vegetables and chewy cockles worked beautifully together, and it was tasty on its own, but it really shines paired with the beef pancake, cutting through the richness perfectly.

And the beef pancake — an explosion of nuttiness! Grilled to a nice golden brown, it was incredibly savory. Eaten with the spicy scallion garnish that comes alongside, or wrapped up with a little of that sweet-and-sour cockle salad on top, the combination was seriously insane haha.

## You can pack the leftover bibimbap to take home

The portions were so generous that we had a bit of bibimbap left over, and when I mentioned it to the staff, they kindly gave us a to-go container and bag so we could bring it home and enjoy it again!
