## In short

Moshi Moshi Sushi Lotte Department Store Gwangbok is a Japanese restaurant on the 10th floor of Lotte Department Store in Jung-gu, Busan. My mom and I ordered two Better Sushi Sets for 51,800 won, with eight pieces of sushi, tempura, udon, and two salads. A polished, filling choice for a relaxed family lunch near Nampo Station.

## A Japanese restaurant on a department store’s 10th floor near Nampo Station

While looking for a neat Japanese restaurant in Nampo-dong, I visited Moshi Moshi at Lotte Department Store Gwangbok! I’d kept thinking about the delicious sushi from my earlier visit to Moshi Moshi’s Busan National University main branch, so when I spotted it while looking for a good lunch near Nampo Station, I went back for the first time in ages! This time I went with my mom, and we ate sooo well haha.

> 10th floor, main building, 2 Jungang-daero, Jung-gu, Busan, South Korea. 64 m from Nampo Station Exit 10; 10:30–21:00 (last order 20:10); department store parking available.

It’s on the 10th floor of Lotte Department Store Gwangbok. The access is so good~

There was a menu board at the entrance, so I took a quick look before going in.

Moshi Moshi also has branches near Busan National University and in Dongnae. This was my first visit to the Gwangbok branch.

## Sushi Set menu and prices

There was quite a variety: sets, table sets, individual sushi, à la carte dishes, noodle dishes, and even kids’ sets.

![Sushi Set menu displayed outside the restaurant](https://img.superchart.com/images/nampo-moshimoshi-yukhoe-sushi/nampo-moshimoshi-yukhoe-sushi-08-12l4k-966.webp)

Of the menus displayed outside, the Sushi Set caught my eye most, so I chose it right away.

The Sushi Set comes in two versions: Good for ₩21,900 and Better for ₩25,900. Since my mom and I were eating together, we thought, why not go for the better one? So we ordered two Better Sushi Sets. Two people came to ₩51,800—₩51,800 total! Each set was said to include eight pieces of sushi, three tempura pieces, udon, vegetable salad, and tofu salad, so I was even more excited.

## A polished interior for family meals and gatherings

Let me show you the inside of Moshi Moshi, this Japanese restaurant in Nampo. The moment I walked in, it felt much more polished and upscale than a typical department-store dining floor. You could tell they’d put care into the lighting and interior.

![Polished Moshi Moshi interior](https://img.superchart.com/images/nampo-moshimoshi-yukhoe-sushi/nampo-moshimoshi-yukhoe-sushi-09-12eal-966.webp)

Maybe that’s why it seemed popular for family meals and group gatherings too, hehe. And honestly, there’s nothing quite as easy and comfortable to eat as sushi.

![Table set for a reservation](https://img.superchart.com/images/nampo-moshimoshi-yukhoe-sushi/nampo-moshimoshi-yukhoe-sushi-10-1jbcv-966.webp)

We had a reservation, and our table was already set, so we could sit down right away without waiting.

## What came with the Better Sushi Set?

After a short wait, both Sushi Sets arrived at once, and just as I’d hoped, they were really well put together.

A big bowl of udon, beautifully arranged tempura in a bamboo basket, and two kinds of salad filled the table—it was such a feast for the eyes >,,<

### Nutty tofu salad and cabbage salad

First, the tofu salad! It had a generous layer of white sauce on top, so I was curious what it would taste like. It was much nuttier than I expected!!!! The tofu was soft, and the sauce tasted homemade. I wasn’t expecting much, but it was honestly so good. My mom cleared hers right away haha.

![Salad served alongside sushi](https://img.superchart.com/images/nampo-moshimoshi-yukhoe-sushi/nampo-moshimoshi-yukhoe-sushi-14-179ui-966.webp)

The cabbage salad also had a salty, refreshing soy sauce-based dressing that was perfect to eat between bites of sushi. Having two kinds of salad made the meal feel even more varied, which I loved.

### Chewy white fish through to yukhoe nigiri

And finally, the main event! The sushi came neatly arranged on a wooden board and looked so pretty. From the left, there were two pieces of white fish, two salmon, tuna, eel, shrimp tataki, and yukhoe (seasoned raw beef) nigiri. The white fish had a lovely chewy texture that went so well with the rice, while the salmon had that familiar soft, melt-in-your-mouth taste. Salmon lovers will be happy.

The tuna was clean and balanced with radish sprouts and wasabi. And the shrimp sushi I love~~ It was topped with garlic sauce, adding garlicky flavor to the bouncy shrimp.

The eel sushi stood out right away because of its size—it was topped with a thick piece of eel,

![Thick-topped eel sushi](https://img.superchart.com/images/nampo-moshimoshi-yukhoe-sushi/nampo-moshimoshi-yukhoe-sushi-18-nn15d-966.webp)

and there were hardly any small bones, so it was easy to eat. It was savory, with the eel’s characteristic flavor and texture coming through nicely.

![Eel sushi from the Sushi Set](https://img.superchart.com/images/nampo-moshimoshi-yukhoe-sushi/nampo-moshimoshi-yukhoe-sushi-19-gi7nh-966.webp)

And the surprisingly delicious yukhoe nigiri! I didn’t expect much, but my mom and I kept saying, “This is really good,” as we ate it. The quality of the yukhoe was far better than expected, and its soft, clean flavor worked well with the sushi rice. I think even people who don’t usually like yukhoe might enjoy trying it once.

### Shrimp, kabocha, and sweet potato tempura with udon

The tempura came in three kinds—shrimp, kabocha squash, and sweet potato. The shrimp tempura was nicely crisp,

![Shrimp and vegetable tempura assortment](https://img.superchart.com/images/nampo-moshimoshi-yukhoe-sushi/nampo-moshimoshi-yukhoe-sushi-21-1dupt-966.webp)

and the kabocha was sweet, but personally, the sweet potato tempura was my favorite. Its sweetness and crisp batter made it perfect for refreshing the palate between bites of sushi.

![Sweet sweet potato tempura](https://img.superchart.com/images/nampo-moshimoshi-yukhoe-sushi/nampo-moshimoshi-yukhoe-sushi-22-en9uo-966.webp)

And you can’t leave out the udon. The broth was clean, the noodles were pleasantly springy, and the texture was great,

![Udon with springy noodles](https://img.superchart.com/images/nampo-moshimoshi-yukhoe-sushi/nampo-moshimoshi-yukhoe-sushi-23-xvqiv-966.webp)

with plenty of mushrooms, shrimp, and yubu (fried tofu pouch), so there was lots to chew on too.

Sushi alone might have felt a little lacking, but with udon, tempura, and salads all together, the table set truly felt substantial. As my mom and I took our time eating each item, we ended up completely full by the end.

## My overall thoughts on lunch in Nampo-dong with Mom

- Excellent access on the department store’s 10th floor
- A substantial set with sushi, tempura, udon, and salads
- Unexpectedly delicious yukhoe nigiri
- A neat, upscale Japanese restaurant atmosphere in Nampo
- Just right for lunch in Nampo-dong with family

I remembered eating so well at the Busan National University branch before, so I visited the Gwangbok branch this time too. Even after a long time, it was still delicious. If you’re looking for a neat Japanese restaurant or a good sushi spot near Nampo Station, it could be worth stopping by Moshi Moshi on the 10th floor of Lotte Department Store Gwangbok.
