I visited Sinseon Myeonga (신선면가) in Yeonsan-dong, Busan, for dinner with my parents. It is a place where you can try kalguksu and sujebi made with house-made noodles. We had hand-torn dough soup and bibim kalguksu with a small bossam serving.

## What did we order with my parents?

Alongside kalguksu, there were sujebi, bibim kalguksu, and a small bossam serving, which made it easy to choose dishes with my parents.

We ordered at a kiosk. We ordered two meals of house-made hand-torn dough soup with a small bossam serving, plus bibim kalguksu with a small bossam serving.

## What were the family seats and side dishes like?

There were a range of tables, from seats for two to tables for larger groups. It looked suitable for dining alone or visiting with family. The restaurant was also kept clean, so we could sit and eat comfortably.

At the time of my visit, sundae (Korean blood sausage) was served as a side dish. It was an unexpected side dish, so I was glad to see it and enjoyed it.

A notice on the wall said they insist on fresh noodles and use blended rice. It introduced how the noodles are made, which made me look forward to the meal even before eating.

## How were the hand-torn dough soup and small bossam serving together?

What I personally liked was being able to have a small bossam serving with the sujebi. It made the meal feel more substantial than having sujebi alone.

The house-made hand-torn dough soup had a pleasantly chewy dough texture.

With the hot broth, I kept reaching for more. My parents enjoyed it too, so I felt we had chosen well. I think I will crave it even more when the weather turns a little chilly.

## What did we pair with the bibim kalguksu?

The bibim kalguksu offered a different flavor from the warm sujebi. I mixed it so the sauce coated everything evenly, and it whetted my appetite. I especially liked it with the small bossam serving.

The house-made noodles and sujebi, along with bossam, made for a filling meal. It was a satisfying dinner because my parents and I all enjoyed it together.

It was difficult to choose just one between the hand-torn dough soup and bibim kalguksu. If you visit with several people, it may be nice to order and share a warm dish and a bibim dish, as we did.
