## Visiting Taco Dot Cheongna Branch at 6pm on a weekday: wait and ordering

Two adults visited Taco Dot Cheongna Branch around 6pm on a weekday. There was no wait, and we ordered easily from the tablet at the table. Food arrived about 15 minutes after ordering. We ordered the fajita platter and carnitas burrito bowl, plus nachos and guacamole.

## Inside Taco Dot Cheongna Branch: seating and space for groups

The interior of Taco Dot Cheongna Branch was fairly spacious, furnished with wood-tone tables and chairs with backrests. The tabletops were wide and the chairs comfortable, and with plenty of seats including large tables, the space suited group gatherings well.

## Taco Dot Cheongna menu and prices: 59,900 won for two

We browsed and ordered from the tablet at the table. There was a wide range of choices — fajita sets, tacos, burrito bowls, quesadillas, chimichangas — with prices for each visible in the photos.

Drink options were also varied, from draft and bottled beer, highballs and tequila to soft drinks, lemonade and a non-alcoholic mojito.

That day we ordered the fajita platter (₩38,900), carnitas burrito bowl (₩13,000), nachos (₩5,000) and guacamole (₩3,000). Adding up the menu-listed prices, the total came to ₩59,900.

Two adults finished all four dishes without leaving anything, but we were quite full afterward. Looking at the fajita platter alone, since tortillas can be refilled, it felt like an appropriate amount for two adults to share. This can vary depending on individual appetite.

## Carnitas burrito bowl, 13,000 won: how did it taste without beans?

Taco Dot Cheongna Branch offers two types of burrito bowls, carnitas and shrimp, and I chose the ₩13,000 carnitas burrito bowl. It was built with fried rice and carnitas topped with romaine, corn, tomato, cheese and sour cream.

I mixed it well with a fork so the toppings spread evenly. The amount of carnitas was generous, moist and very tender, with no pork smell at all. As shown in the photo, there were quite a lot of vegetables too, and the cheese and sour cream flavors came through at a moderate, not overly strong, level.

Personally, I feel burrito bowls taste better with beans for extra nuttiness, and this one didn't include any. So it felt a bit lighter than the burrito bowls I usually eat — this part will likely come down to personal preference.

Halfway through, I added Tabasco hot sauce from the table to change things up. The added spice and tang gave it a different, enjoyable flavor from the original.

The ₩38,900 fajita platter came out on a large pan with carnitas, shrimp, barbecue chicken, sautéed vegetables and fried rice. The sides were varied too — tortillas, salsa, sour cream, diced tomato, coleslaw and pickles.

Overall it wasn't a spicy dish, and everything was well-seasoned. The fried rice had a very mild hint of spice, not enough to feel hot, and wasn't salty, so it paired well with the meat. Sautéed vegetables underneath the meat and shrimp were nice to add into the tortillas too.

The carnitas was moist, very tender and had no gamey smell, making it the tastiest of the three proteins for me. The barbecue chicken wasn't too sweet and had a nice smoky flavor, with tender meat. The shrimp was plump with slightly salty seasoning, making it a good match for drinks too.

The three proteins were kept separate within the pan, so we could pick whichever we wanted first, and it was fun to mix up the main ingredient with each tortilla.

We put carnitas, barbecue chicken or shrimp with fried rice on the tortilla first, then added salsa, sour cream, diced tomato or coleslaw depending on our preference. Even with the same platter, we kept changing up the combinations depending on what we wrapped together.

Taco Dot Cheongna Branch advertises unlimited tortilla and sauce refills, and we requested an extra round of tortillas that day. The staff were kind about it, and it was especially nice that there was no additional charge.

## Nachos 5,000 won and guacamole 3,000 won: the best side combination

The nachos cost ₩5,000 and came with nacho cheese. Instead of being served cold, they came out warm and were very crispy and salty. They were good dipped in the cheese, and the saltiness also made them a great match for beer.

The guacamole cost ₩3,000 and came as a taste-sized portion in a small bowl. Unlike places that only sell large portions, it was easy to add on without commitment, a good amount to pair with the nachos.

The avocado was ripened just right, soft enough to mash easily. Topping the warm, salty nachos with guacamole gave a different combination from the cheese sauce, and it was good to alternate between the two.

Near the register, there were candies set out for anyone to freely take one. On the way out after our meal, I grabbed a lollipop.

## Verdict: fajita platter or carnitas burrito bowl at Taco Dot Cheongna?

The fajita platter at Taco Dot Cheongna Branch let us eat carnitas, barbecue chicken, shrimp and fried rice all at once, mixing up our own tortilla combinations. It wasn't spicy but was well-seasoned, and we were able to refill tortillas once and wrap generously right to the end.

The carnitas burrito bowl was filling with plenty of meat and vegetables, but without beans, it fell a bit short on nuttiness for my taste. Adding Tabasco partway through made it spicy and tangy, and enjoyable in a different way.

Two adults finished all four dishes and left quite full, and between the fajita and the burrito bowl, the fajita platter — mixing various ingredients into the tortillas — was the more satisfying choice. The warm, crispy nachos with a small side of guacamole also paired well.
