## In short

Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch is a charcoal galbi (grilled short ribs) restaurant on Songnang-ro in Yangju, Gyeonggi, with private rooms and a large parking lot. Three friends, one of them pregnant, had 2 servings of fresh ribs and 2 servings of marinated ribs for lunch at Manpo Galbi, with yukjeon (pan-fried beef), yukhoe (beef tartare) and potato salad as banchan, free dessert naengmyeon (cold noodles) and iced dessert coffee in a cup of ice on the way out, all for just over 80,000 won. No single dish stole the show, but the full spread makes Manpo Galbi a solid choice for a family meal.

Went on a little Yangju outing with two friends to see one of them who's pregnant, haha. Since she needed some protein (?), we decided lunch should be galbi (grilled ribs) lol.

So we ended up at Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch, a well-known Yangju restaurant, and long story short: the ribs were great, but honestly it was the whole package — banchan (side dishes) to dessert — that made three of us stuff ourselves without the bill getting scary. If you're looking for a Yangju galbi restaurant for a family meal or a group gathering, this one's worth keeping in mind.

## Where is Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch, and what are the hours?

Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch is at 65 Songnang-ro, 1st floor, Yangju, Gyeonggi, South Korea, open daily from 11:00 to 22:00.

## Is parking easy at Manpo Galbi in Yangju?

There's a large parking lot right in front of Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch.

## Outside and inside: private rooms at Manpo Galbi

From the outside it already looked like a pretty sizable galbi restaurant, and inside it was spacious and kept impressively clean.

Best of all, there's a separate private room, which would work well for a family meal with parents, a birthday dinner, or a group gathering.

We were just three friends grabbing lunch, but the second we saw the place I thought, "this would work for a family visit too." So many restaurants get awkward once your group gets even a little bigger, so having a room like this really does make things easier if you're looking for a Yangju spot for a family meal.

## The menu and what three of us ordered

- 2 servings fresh ribs
- 2 servings marinated ribs
- 1 Fanta, 1 Coke

## How far do the banchan go? Yukjeon, yukhoe and potato salad

Seeing the banchan (side dishes) laid out before the meat even arrived, I was like, "wow, they really bring it here."

It wasn't just a lot of dishes for the sake of it — everything actually tasted good, so we kept reaching for them even before the meat showed up. The yukjeon (pan-fried beef) especially was tender and delicious, and the yukhoe (beef tartare) wasn't overly seasoned, which suited my taste perfectly.

And the surprise sleeper hit — potato salad lol. Nothing special on paper, but somehow my hand kept going back to it, haha (refills available at the self-serve corner, +_+).

*The yukjeon wasn't tough at all — tender and delicious!*

Considering the price of the galbi, getting a spread like this as the basic table setting felt pretty satisfying.

## Fresh ribs vs marinated ribs: which to order at Manpo Galbi

I usually prefer plain meat over marinated when eating galbi, so naturally my first pick was the fresh ribs.

![Close-up of fresh ribs grilling](https://img.superchart.com/images/yangju-manpo-galbi-pregnant-friend-lunch/yangju-manpo-galbi-pregnant-friend-lunch-09-1qjpf-966.webp)

I like tasting the meat itself without sauce, so fresh ribs were obviously my thing. That said, it's not like fresh ribs won by a landslide that day — the marinated ribs we had afterward turned out better than expected lol.

If you're someone who, like me, doesn't usually go for marinated ribs, it'd be worth ordering half and half to try both. (Fresh ribs can only be ordered from 2 servings up!)

And then, the marinated ribs, which impressed me more than expected.

I usually get sick of marinated meat quickly if the sauce is too sweet or heavy, but here the flavor wasn't overwhelming, so I kept eating without getting tired of it.

*You've got to pull the meat off the bone*

My pregnant friend, who usually prefers marinated ribs anyway, was definitely on team marinated too, haha. I'm on team fresh ribs, but even I thought, "the marinated ones here are actually worth recommending."

![Free dessert naengmyeon served alongside the ribs](https://img.superchart.com/images/yangju-manpo-galbi-pregnant-friend-lunch/yangju-manpo-galbi-pregnant-friend-lunch-14-1qpwx-966.webp)

If you're going with someone who likes fresh ribs and someone who likes marinated, ordering both to split would suit everyone's taste.

## Free dessert naengmyeon, if you still have room

Dessert naengmyeon (cold noodles) here is completely free! We were already pretty full just thinking about the 4 servings of ribs we'd eaten, and then dessert naengmyeon showed up too lol. (Recommend ordering it at the same time as the ribs^_^)

Having dessert included for free, almost like part of the basic spread, made the whole meal feel even more worth it value-wise. The only problem was... we (I?) ate way too much haha. Three of us finished 2 servings of fresh ribs and 2 servings of marinated ribs, and I genuinely thought I might burst lol. I think I out-ate the pregnant one, haha.

![Bbeong soft serve and coffee at the dessert corner](https://img.superchart.com/images/yangju-manpo-galbi-pregnant-friend-lunch/yangju-manpo-galbi-pregnant-friend-lunch-15-1opyx-966.webp)

There were still delicious desserts waiting (iced coffee, bbeong soft serve), but our stomach space was disappearing fast — honestly the only regret of the day was wanting to eat more but having no room left lol.

### Iced dessert coffee served in a cup of ice

Another thing that surprised me on the way out was the dessert coffee — not just a paper cup of hot coffee, but a to-go cup with ice already prepared. Small detail, but as a customer it felt like a really nice touch.

We were already way too full and our next stop was a café anyway, so we didn't drink it, but for anyone who wants to grab a cup for the road, it's a genuinely thoughtful service. I kind of regret not taking one, ㅠ haha.

Ribs, then naengmyeon, then coffee and dessert to take with you — how much more are you going to give us, haha.

## Verdict: just over 80,000 won for three at Manpo Galbi

Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch, the Yangju restaurant we visited under the excuse of feeding my pregnant friend (?). What I liked most wasn't any one standout dish, but how solid the whole package was — the price of the ribs, the generous banchan, the free dessert naengmyeon, and the coffee and dessert on top. I'm team fresh ribs, but the marinated ribs weren't too heavy either, so I enjoyed those too, and my friend preferred marinated, so splitting by preference worked out well haha.

Above all, the banchan selection was so good you could mix and match without getting bored. Three of us ate until we were stuffed and still landed at just over ₩80,000, which honestly feels like great value given how expensive eating out has gotten. The place is also big and clean with a private room, so next time I'd consider coming with parents for a family meal in Yangju rather than just with friends. If I go again? Eat through everything — banchan, meat, dessert — but maybe not jump straight to 4 servings each lol.

Ate well and left happy^_^
