The chicken is cut into bite-size pieces and tossed spicily with various vegetables, so the vegetables and chicken never feel separate — every bite has both, which makes it a real treat. I love dakbokkeumtang, but honestly it's a dish that can feel like too much for one person — not just the portion, but all the bone-picking involved makes it hard to order solo. But at Seocho Jeonggye, you can enjoy dakbokkeumtang solo without any burden. It comes out already deboned and ready to eat, with sauce that clings to every bite and chewy chicken that's genuinely delicious. Since everything is already prepped, all you need to do is scoop it generously over rice. Made with a special gochujang, they say — it's not heavy or overly sweet, but deep and savory. The spice level is adjustable too; I ordered it medium. Just spicy enough to wake up the appetite, and perfectly balanced. With well-cooked potatoes, chicken, and plenty of sauce mixed into rice, you don't need anything else. ## Summer-only chogyeguksu and the dak tteokgalbi we added Chogyeguksu is Seocho Jeonggye's summer-only menu item. Chewy noodles piled with chicken and vegetables, plus a broth that cools you down to the core! This isn't a broth that just tastes like vinegar — it's subtly sweet with a tangy kick that rises up after, a refreshing chogyeguksu you can drink down easily without feeling weighed down. The portion is also very generous! If you're someone who gets hungry quickly after noodles, give this a try at Seocho Jeonggye. This is the dak tteokgalbi we added alongside the chogyeguksu. It's a soft chicken thigh tteokgalbi you can easily cut with chopsticks. There's actual rice cake (tteok) inside, so it has a proper chewy texture too. Placed over rice, it's low-key another rice thief.
